Ok ladies, I have been searching for several members here and other boards lately.  Different people have mentioned others that I had over-looked.  Karen, Kathy, and Kelly over at the Ovarian board have thought having a check in for EVERYONE!  Not a staging thing or dx, ect., just an "I'm here" thing.  And besides yourself, add anyone you know that use to post, but for reasons, they have stoped.  All you ladies that check in, just give us a hi!   Thanks, and I'm Debra(Jo), and I'm HERE!

Hi, I'm Joanne and I had UPSC Stage lll. C3. SURGERY,18 chemos (weekly), brachattherapy (4). Finished treatment Feb. 2014. I see my gyn Inc in a couple of weeks but doing great. I will get to go to six months checkups. I know the statistics but have every intention of living another twenty years or more. I just turned 70. My lasting chemo gift is neuropathy in my feet and a bladder that will never be quite the same. Chemo was the toughest thing I've ever done but we survive because we're strong women. My husband was diagnosed one month before Mr (5/2013) with bilateral kidney cancer and my daughter at 43 with breast cancer 12/2014. We've been through He'll . But emerge strong. I admire all the women posting here. I don't post often but follow regularly. Stay stron!

Hello to everyone!  This is so great!  I'm beside myself with JOY to see the ones I have over-looked checking in(I'm claiming chemo brain instead of old age! LOL!).
Yes, we are tough and getting tougher!  I looked back on some of my post and wonder "Who the Heck is this person?".  I sound like a two year old without the night light!  Thank God for this group and thank you dear Linda P.!  I'd hate to think where I'd be if not for her and you all!  Debrajo

2009 Dx of both grade 2 and grade 3 (UPSC) endometrial cancers following TAH/BSO and several labs reviewing my slides. Stage 1. I had 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol and 3 rounds of brachytherapy. I worked half time and (in a successful attempt to stay healthy) went in the evening after everyone else had left for the day. Chemo brain really made work hard for me. I had never heard of it and felt like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Peripheral neuropathy actually became worse following treatment but resolved about a year later. In 2014 I had a bowel resection after a colo-vaginal fistula developed. I had a temporary ileostomy while the remaining bowel healed. I also had my huge post-hysterectomy hernia repaired. I had an ileostomy reversal for Christmas 2014. This past Thanksgiving I had a repair of an incarcerated intestine at the same location as the repaired ileostomy. I am hoping for no further surgeries!

I continue to read the uterine, gynecological, and ovarian cancer boards. I have a PAP and a CA 125 test every year, and I remain NED. I deeply miss the lovely women who are no longer with us. I wish good health and lots of happy times to all of you!

Sally

So glad to say I am here and healthy. I also so admire and miss Linda P, Ro and others who have so valiantly fought our common enemy. There bravery and compassion have been so inspiring. Reading their stories and posts helped me so much when I was at my lowest. And my thanks to all the ladies here today who continue their tradition!

I don't write often, but read posts almost every day. This month I will be one year NED as chemo was over last January. I was stage 1A, grade 3 with UPSC in a polyp. I also wondered where some of the old posters were. Thanks for the thread.

I'm new and still in early treatment, so I don't officially count, but what a wonderful idea to have people sign on just to see their names.  It's a hugh boost to me to see survivors.

Does anyone here know EXACTLY what Nancy B., NancyBEE, ect screen name was?  When my old computer crashed I lost all the e-mails I had with her!  She was from California, around the Bay area.  She was UPSC also. Thanks, Debra

and she's not been signed in for a few months.  She was trying not to think of cancer so much and had some tough personal issues.  Hope they are resolving.  Also wondering about Kathy G and Sara Zippora.

Thanks Connie!  I had so much data that went with my last computer!  It is Nancibee!  Now I will try to find her regular e-mail in my paper files!

Hi Kathy!  Thanks for stopping by!  Debra

I think Kathy G was one of the low grade cancers...hope cancer is in her rear-view mirror!  The last I heard from Sara Zippora she was in Israel, I think, and had stopped all treatment(if I remember right!).  Thanks again!

Checking in!  Still here.  List of treatments as long as your arm over the years, which I won't bore you with!  But status at the moment is that I'm 14 months out from Cyberknife radiotherapy to the tumour in my pelvis and taking tamoxifen daily. Last MRI scan (Sept 15) showed mass is stable.  Feeling pretty good considering everything my poor old body has been through.

Lovely to see everyone checking in.

Kindest wishes
Helen xx

Hello cohorts~

Let me begin by saying how profoundly grateful I am to have been able to read all your posts and glean your insight and wisdom.

Met with my gynonco Friday. with stage 1a. she left the protocol decision up to me. Hum. Either follow up in 3 months w a PET scan or chemo.

I am pursuing a second opinion. Based on my very brief time on this board, I believe in the collective knowledge and honesty of this band of women.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Cindy.

Hello Cindy!  I'm glad you found us but not under such great circumstance.  I was Stage II UPSC so my doctor didn't give me any choice but chemo.  I only made it through three chemos but hopefully they killed off any cancer cells still floating around!  Good luck on whatever treatment you choose.

Love,

Eldri

Cosaltlife, we had a great discussion on this a while back.  Here is a link to that thread:

I had to go way back to 2013 to find it but I knew there are other discussions out there.

http://csn.cancer.org/node/262251

Recently Double Whammy (Suzanne) had a good comment on a similar question, and here is that thread:

Never hesitate to get a second opinion.  You have to be your own advocate.

The check in is a great idea.  I'm still around but do not check the boards as frequently.  It's been 6 years since my undifferentiated small cell cancer adventure.

Sending good vibes to all!!!

Stage IVb UPSC with surgery May, 2010.  Had a spread to both ovaries, the omentum, and the small intestine, but no lymph nodes.  Had 6 rounds of carboplatin and taxol completed Sept., 2010.  Currently still NED.  Had bloodwork today and will see oncologist/hematologist next week for another 6 month check up (I also see him for hemochromatosis). I see my gyn/onc who did my surgery once a year now.  That will probably be in June.  Don't expect any change in my status.

Hi Everyone!

Debrajo, this was a great idea! Thanks for thinking of it!

Connie, thanks for asking about me!

Yes, I was stage 1, grade 1 in 11/2012....surgery 1/2013...no further treatment necessary. I missed my December 2015 appointment due to my brother's sudden and unexpected death from a heart attack at 53. I just rescheduled for next week...having no problems and hope to hear 3 years clean!

Cancer changed my life despite it's early stage. I had weight loss surgery in my continuing quest to be healthier.  Have lost 100+ pounds...and 75 was pre-op due to changing my eating habits. My oncologist said one of the contributing factors to my cancer was my obesity.

I still have to deal with my heart issue, but it is manageable. I hope yours is doing okay, Debrajo!

This board and the members have a special place in my heart due to all the love and support. It is just hard to come on and read some of the hard times many of you have or are experiencing, and we have lost quite a few ladies I felt close to.

I also wonder about Sara Zippora and I forget the doctor's name...

My best to ALL my sisters!

I'm sorry to hear of your brother's sudden death.  My brother died of a massive heart attack in 1998 at the age of 37.  We worry about our cancer returning but after facing the unexpected death of a loved one, we realize nothing is guaranteed.  Congratulations on your weight loss and your continued NED!

Love,

Eldri

This is great!  Kathy G., Pinky, all of you!  Sorry sorry for your lose Kathy...so young!  I have children older than that!  I am fine so far as I know.  Passed my five years clear last Oct, and had the second aortic heart valve placed almost a year ago come March.  Other junk, but such is life!  Keep checking in girls...I have tried to find Sara Zippora, but no luck.  Y'all don't be strangers...stop by and at least give us a wave!  Best Debrajo

Greetings,

I just joined the group today. It was recommended by the uterine cancer support group at cancerconnect. My birthday was the 20th. I turned 63. I am just 6 month out from chemo and brachytherapy after complete hysterectomy with dx of UPSC. I feel fabulous, hair has grown back curly. back to my daily swimming routine. So far so good. I am too just trying to find the balance between being scared that every little pain is a new concern & its never going to get me again. I accept that it is a journey and I treasure the support that I find in other's stories. Love and good juju to you all.  Laura

This is a good place to come.  Many kind, caring, and knowing ladies.  I was diagnosed in Aug. 2012 with serous papillary endometrial andocarsinoma. It is stage IV high grade.  Altogether I have had 28 chemo treatments, 28 external radiation treatments, and 2 brachytherapy.  I have many more good days than bad and have much to be thankful for.  Although I wish I didn't have this beast in my life, cancer has shown me how truely blessed I am.  Hope you have many, many years of dancing with NED.  Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

Glad you found us!  I didn't find the group til I had been done with everything over a year!  I am only as sane as I am now due to this group!  I am UPSC also.  Fear of it coming back never leaves, but we manage to shove it into the back ground most days!  BTW, I am a five year and counting survivor!  Best, Debrajo
