I decided to really give it a go
And I've lost 5 pounds. Golly only a gazillion more to go. And I'm HUNGRY! But....I also went to the rheumatologists today for a shot in the hip so now I can walk. Before it was step, drag, step drag....I can walk the halls in the local school till spring when I can enjoy outdoors again. Winter in the northeast!
Hope everyone else is doing well! (Missrenee, I treat myself to a chocolate covered cherry once a week)

I went to WW on Friday and was down 1.8 lbs. Friday night celebrated my granddaughter's bday with a salad. Saturday had bday cake. Today I was weighed at cancer center where I go for rads and was back up 3+ lbs. I can't seem to keep it off. My total loss for WW is 4.6 lbs. I hope my weight is down this Friday!

My husband, Vizsla (Jake) and I hiked for 3 hours on Saturday at a state park near our home, Sunday I took off and today Jake and I went on a 3.2 mile walk.
Watching what I eat is a totally different story. Yesterday I sort of pigged out watching all the football. Today went better--Special K with blueberries and skim milk for breakfast, fat-free yogurt with walnuts for lunch, non-fat, decaf mocha as a snack and then homemade vegetable/barley soup for dinner. Not bad--right? Okay, confession time--here's the bad part--3 slices of garlic toast with the soup at dinner and then 2 chocolate cookies
I'm going to bed now so I don't eat anything else!
Oh, and Sue--only ONE chocolate covered cherry?! You rock!
Good luck girls.

Me, too
I'm a Weight Watcher and have lost 17 pounds to date. When I went on Tamoxifen I was warned about by some about weight gain. So, I decided to tackle it head on. I love WW. It works for me. I'm excited to see that there are others on WW on these boards. Hugs, Marilynn0 -

Congrats to you all it sounds like the changes are making their way and you are doing your job. I myself decided that it was time to clean the basement out and get that gym down there with the equipment I have. Wow what a difference a workout makes and know it doesn't take long to be back right where you were once. I myself have dropped a good 15 lbs this past year and my partner is actually lighter than I for first time in our relationship since my cancer fight.
Keep it up ladies glad to hear how it is going...

Oh Vicki sorry to hear you have been feeling poorly but glad to hear you are on the upswing! I weighed in yesterday and lost .8 lbs so now I at at 20.8 lb weight loss which makes me happy, I feel much better as well. I am really working hard at revamping a lot of my recipes to make them lighter and better for us so we can still have variety and it is helping. I really am tickled to see there are several of us who have decided to fight the battle of the bulge around the same time, nice to see the support.
Take care everyone!

beating myself up! If I slip, or fall off tghe wagon -- I get right back on the very next meal, or snak. I don't use my old time favorite .. I'll wait until tomorrow and start all over again .. cuz, tomorrow turns into the next day and the next -- before you know it, I've gained 5 lbs and fell like a failure. So .. when I over do it at 1 meal.. I try try try to regain control of my senses and remain on program.
Everyone have a good week .. and I am committed to move this week, whether I am walking or just going up and down my stairs for the day. I try to climb my stairs at least 20 times per day, on the days that I am not walking my 1/2 mile. Yikes .. ! LOL
Strength for all ... 1 meal at a time.

Thanks for the posting!! I just found out I have severe anemia which explains SO MUCH!! I try to walk 10,000 steps a day, but I just can't. So,.... I too just push!!!!
I also try not to beat myself up, though it's hard not to!!

Thanks Vicki Sam,
Working has been hard. I work with someone who doesn't "get it". I am ALWAYS explaining myself. When I told her about my severe anemia and that I would need to take a rest break when needed, she said "I have anemia too" and just kind of turned away.
I just sat there. I am hard on myself but that comment made me mad. I will be more selfish with my energy. I am taking mega iron pills which are plant based, so hopefully, this will be easier on my stomach. I have taken about 6 so far and haven't noticed any change, but I am hoping.

My two cents...
Can I offer some unsolicited advice? From a person who LOVES to workout!!! Don't weigh yourself everyday...make it once a week instead. That number can drive you crazy if you let it. Plus, if you are exercising, try adding weight lifting to schedule. You will gain muscle and burn fat...but guess what? Muscle weighs more than fat so the number may actually go up!!! (But your metabolism will be faster, fat will melt away, your size will go down, and you will need to eat to keep the muscle...) Don't fall into that vicious cycle of looking at that number. Just some friendly advice...
PS Weight lifting helps reduce the chance of lymphodema and improves bone density too! But remember to wear a compression sleeve if you add this to your routine.
Good luck!!!

Want to lose weight with you guys can I join you?
I don't do weight watchers though- I love the gym. It's been 3 weeks now since I started back faithfully. Been averaing about 4 days a week. I do aerobic / step class and zumba at the gym. I absolutely love going. So far I've lost 2 lbs. My problem is snacking. I have this weakness for chocolate I don't weigh everyday either, I weigh first thing Saturday morning, right after I pee and with nothing on.
When did you guys start this? Can I join in/

I too have a weakness for snacking even though WW tells you to have a midmorning and afternoon snack. Unfortunately I eat breakfast late and sometimes have an afternoon snack but I sit in front of the tv at night and snack.

I've been having a lot of bone pain. I have had osteo arthritis for more than 10 years but started Arimidex 3 weeks ago and I think it's added to the pain. I'm also dealing with swelling ankles, knees, etc. I think losing weight is going to be a challenge. I cleaned house today because we had snow and ice so I canceled my rads and added it to the end of my treatment. I hated doing that but there was no way I was leaving my house today. I also have an ear infection.

was difficult walking up and down my stairs .. so I would just walking short distances, and while at the gym .. I rode a bike, now mind you .. just for 10 minutes, however it helped with that thrubbing pain in my joints.
Losing 1/2 pound a week, helps our joints, back and legs. Perhaps using hand held weights as Pitt suggested, may also help.
Let us know .. how you are doing Char.
