pet scan update

I went to my doctor for my results and they were not good. My tumors are growing in my liver and abdomen so the chemotherapy is not working except to make me sicker (if there is such a word!!), I have been given info on a trial which looks promising, i have all the paper work and I am going to sign them asap. Unfortunately, we had a snowstorm so there may be a delay on getting everything together. A friend of mine had just told me about this new drug that is supposed to be very promising and this is the drug that the trial is for! Since my oncologist is the researcher on this drug, it is pretty certain that I will be chosen. In the mean time, since my tumors are growing, they are pressing on my back and causing back pain and stomach pain, so i am not here often. Just wanted to let you know

I am sending positive vibes for your acceptance in the trial and for the promising results you so deserve. I know it's very hard but try to stay positive.     Think about you often and so glad you checked in. Sorry about your results...just hits me in my gut when I hear this kind of news. I hope the trial will help you and that you get relief from the pain.

    It sounds very painful. Please take very good care of yourself now more
    than ever and hold on to that amazing and beautiful fighting spirit of yours.

    I am sorry to hear this latest and not greatest Meena. Please hang in there and try not to be too discouraged. I hope and pray that you can get into the clinical trial ASAP. It sounds quite promising. We'll be rooting for you and everyone will understand if you aren't able to update often.

    I am so sorry you are going through this pain, it doesn't sound at all easy. I hope your doctor is able to get you into the trial you mentioned as soon as possible; some of them have proven to have amazing results. I'm glad that a friend of yours mentioned the same one- somehow that feels like it was meant to be.

    We are all praying that you have an easy time of it and that you get some good news soon. When I first joined this board last summer there was the most beautiful picture of you and some family members walking on the beach. I thought you looked so healthy and happy! I pray that you get on the right combo of drugs and are back in that place by summer 2011.

    meena i am sorry you are feeling lousy and your Pet was not showing the result you and we all wanted. i am glad your doc has plan B. and i am glad you have that onc too. Love and hugs.

    Meena,please know that we are all here to support you and all of those who are going through recurrence, and generally just don't feel good. My heart breaks every time I see another post that says the first round of chemo/rads wasn't enough to hold the beast at bay, and our fellow survivors' strengths are again being tested. You have a load of strength inside, and I feel that this is what will get you through. Meena, know that you are held up by all who read your posts, and that we are staying strong for you and all of the other sisters who are still fighting for their life.
