That must be a great feeling, when I finished my eight round, I felt like a huge load was off my back, I can only imagine how you must feel! Keep fighting the good fight!!!!! Positive thoughts your way......... Vinny
Last treatment is a great obstacle to overcome! Comfort in being done, but at the same time, more stress. I didn't know what to do with myself. No more constant doc visits, bloodwork, tests.....it came to a screeching halt.
With time it got better, but those 2 months between maintenance become a VERY long time.
Congratulations friend!! Enjoy the weekend!\\

It does feel so good to be done but can be confusing too. I am glad you plan to hang around here. Looks like you were diagnosed around the same time I was. Continued success to you. Mary(FNHL-1-4A-8/08)0 -

You will be fine
Hi Chris,
You will be fine and I think as time passes you won't feel quite so much like a bird being pushed from the nest. Your confidence will grow, and remember to keep positive thoughts! I'm so happy you can get on with your life now and take a rest from all of this. ENJOY!
Love...Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -

last chemo Nov 17, 2010
Nov 17, 2010 will be my last r-chop if my blood count holds. It would be better if I could skip day seven through 12 after chemo which is my worst time. I need to recover so I can put the Christmas lights up. Are you looking forward to the things that you missed? Hair, energy, getting feeling in your hands and feet, not feeling sick most of the time and scheduling your life around treatments.0 -

Hi Bob im looking forward to all of it, this last round of chemo was retuxin a bit diff from what i had back in 2008,its called maintanence therapy. it still had some side affects i had to deal with, hopefully Nov 17th will be your last, all i want is my energy back, to be able to walk like i used to, as far as my hair is concerned this pic here is what i look like now , i lost my hair in 08 when it was past my waist, was a shock but i kept a sense of humor saying i would save money on shampoos and hair appts and it will grow back.I wish you all the luck, let us know how everything is going for you, the people here are very understanding and are here to help in any way if they can, good luck to you and hope to see another post from you soon take care

Congratulations! ^_^
I am so happy for you!! I remember when I had my last treatment. It was a about a month ago actually. Its hard and scary because you think that your held onto this chemo and the sickness is a part of who you are when thats not the case at all.
I was so terrified that I wouldnt make it because of my age and the situation I was in but I made it and its so worth it! Looking at the sun rise and set, seeing the clouds, listening to the birds, all that means something totally different. Ive never seen the real beauty of life until it was possibly taken away from me.
You have the same attitude I did. Its oh so liberating to have that leave your body. We both know that the reality is that it could come back, for either of is, but dont focus on that right now. I see it like this: If it comes back, deal with it then. Dont dwell upon something that may never happen. Be happy, live life to the fullest and know and remember this moment for the rest of your life: your free
Hats off to you hun ^_^0 -

My 8th and last chemo is scheduled for 11-17-10 but I started a fever of 102.2 and now I'm stuck in the hospital because my white count is too low for me to go home. I was admitted Thursday morning, Friday the count went down even further. It's Saturday morning so now I'm waiting for the results of todays blood test. They knocked the fever down right away on Thursday and I have felt okay since then. It's frustrating to think this will delay my last treatment. My doctor said if the count comes back by the 17th I can still finish on time and a dose of Neulasta.0 -

HI,
My count bounced back by Sunday morning so they let me go home. Now I hope it keeps going up so I can finish on Wednesday as scheduled. I guess I better be extra careful so I don't get another fever next time. Although I'm not sure how this last one got started.0 -

I am so glad to read that, will continue with positive thoughts for you to finish your treatments, yes you do need to be a bit more careful i know i was,for us with a weakened immune system it doesnt take much for a fever to start, we have the immune system of a newborn pretty much, good luck to you and take care keep us posted0 -

My onc decided I didn't need the 8th r-chop treatment. I'm still in a little shock about his decision. He said because of the good pet scan after 6 treatments that it may do more harm than good to do the 8th treatment. I have pretty bad neuropathy in my hands and mainly my feet. He also said since there is no cure the extra treatment may not make the remission last any longer either. Well I guess I had my last chemo and didn't know it was the last one.0 -

Well im glad you got a good result back on the scan, now you can take a breather and focus on getting back on track, now enjoy the holidays that are to come knowing you dont have to have anymore chemo, and just relax and take advantage knowing you dont have to set your life around chemo appts etc, good luck to you and thanks for keeping us posted, take care
