Praying for You
Hi,
Sorry to hear about your martial problems. You may want to go to an Al Anon meeting to help you. You are a strong person to get through your treatment and I'm sure you will come through this as well. I'm not saying it will be a bed of roses but you will make it through. We are always here for you to vent.0 -

So sorry for the stress you
So sorry for the stress you are going through. I was married to an alcoholic for 10 years.
You can't take care of him right now...you can't let his sickness take priority over your
needs.Let him go and take care of yourself .....You will be happier alone....I did 6 chemo's, 35 rads, and just had my last reconstructive surgery all with the help of good friends to take me to the hospital and stay with me when needed. What I'm saying is, don't stay because you are afraid to face your surgeries alone. I'm sure you have other people in your life who love you and want to be of help to you.An alcoholic husband will always let you down when you need him most....so don't stress yourself out worse trying to make him be what you need him to be....just do what you need to do for your own well being.I hope you will find some peace and happiness soon.

Sorry to read this. YouHubby said:Very Sad
I'll say a prayer for you and your husband. I have a good marriage, and the stress of this is rough on me and my wife. So if you are starting out in a bad spot, I can only imagine what this will do. I keep hearing the words of Marlon Brando from the Godfather talking to his crying godson..."You can act like a man", and somehow it stops me from falling to pieces (at least some of the time). I'm not an alcoholic, but I'm drinking more than normal. I wish I could pull your husband aside and tell him to pull himself together, stop drinking, and that it's not about him; but since I can't I'll say a prayer that someone does, and that he grows up. And a prayer that you get the support you need if you can't get it from dear hubby.
Sorry to read this. You have been and still are going thru so much. Praying for you!0 -

I'm so sorry
To hear this. But, as others have said, I know you have the strength to get through this no matter what.
Please concentrate on what you need for your own healing and well being and allow your hubby to find his own way or not. You probably already know this, but remember that you can't fix anyone else no matter how much you love them. They must do that for themselves.
We are always here for you.
Big healing hugs,

Dearest RRogers,
You will be
Dearest RRogers,
You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I am sorry to hear about all that you have to contend with during this difficult time in your life. Yes, rest assured, you are not alone. God, family, friends, and your "Sisters in Pink" will be cheering you on as you reach one milestone after the next!
Also, congratulations on finishing up with chemo! That is Huge. Best of luck with your surgery and with radiation, too!

My brother is an alcholic.
My brother is an alcholic. It ruined 2 of his marriages, many jobs, he doesn't see his kids, in and out of rehabs, etc., etc. I always seem to be "taking care of him" aka "enabling", even though he is a 3 hour drive away. It seemed never ending...until now. It is all about me now, and his needs must wait. Take good care of yourself. Don't worry about your husband. The Alanon meetings are helpful, but they come secondary to your well being. If he was an alcoholic, before your cancer, he will most likely be an alcoholic during and after your cancer. You do not need the stress and aggravation. It is HIS problem, and only he can fix it, but you can be a support for him, much more after your therapy is completed. Right now, he needs to sober up, and be the husband and support you need him to be for you right now. If he can't be the man he needs to be, count on your friends and other family members for the 100% support you need. Good friends are priceless. Worthless husbands are expendable. Eliminate your stress and find comfort in those who can support you in the way you deserve to be supported. God Bless, and good luck!0 -

Sending hugs your way
and I will be praying for you. You are right, God will never leave you. He has promised he would not, even in our darkest times. I know this is true. My Daddy died 6 weeks before I was diagnosed and if it had not been for my faith, I would not have made it. I loved my Daddy more than anything. Take care of yourself and continue to fight. I will be praying for you.0
