Worst bout with nausea this time. I am taking my compazine and it helps me a little but still can barely even force my water down. This began Monday evening.
I am so sorry Elm. I hope the nausea leaves you soon. Can they give you some anti-nausea pills for that? I thought they could.

Try to at least eat a cracker. I had trouble with nausea and the nurse said to keep something in my stomach. Crackers seemed to help.0 -

Elm, try to get something in your stomach. Does anything sound good? Even just some chicken noodle soup, pudding, jello or crackers? You need to keep your strength up.

My turn nowMyTurnNow said:Thanks for the supportive
Thanks for the supportive words. My chemo starts tomorrow and I am feeling a little apprehensive just because of the unknown. Also, my daughter, 23 years old, has insisted that she be the one to go with me. She's a little on the weepy side and I hope she can hold it together. Everytime she sees a lady now with a "bald" head she tears up. I tell her to look at the positive side; that person is still here and fighting this dreaded disease. Her father and my husband died of cancer over 20 years ago and that's where her fear comes from. I explained to her many times it was a different cancer (mesothelioma) and many, many years ago. The medicine available today from everything I've read is wonderful and giving all of us a much better prognosis. Take care.
I just saw your post and I just wanted to welcome you to the boards, this is wonderful place to come for support. There are alot of women starting chemo, or maybe 1 or 2 sessions in, but it's easy to find someone here to help you walk this journey.
Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted on how it goes, we're here when you need us.
God Bless

thank you everyone for your concern!
I am not as nauseated this evening. Can't taste a thing though! I am very tired and chemo brain has definitely set in! And of course the lovely neulasta is taking its toll on me...My wonderful
husband took me for a drive to try and make me feel better. It was nice to get out and just relax but boy is it hot! We are thinking about taking a little trip this weekend, as long as I am up to it. Excited about that!
Hope everyone is doing great tonight! Love to all!0 -

Glad you're feeling at least a little better. Losing the taste sensation is a big bummer. But, you must eat... Bland foods that are easy on the tummy, in smaller amounts and more often, are recommended. Lotsa water, too!
Hoping you'll continue to feel better, each day.0 -

That nausea sure is tough to get through. But everyone is right, try to keep your stomach from getting too empty. Makes the nausea worse.
And that rubbery feeling in your leg muscles? I know exactly what you're talking about. That's from the Taxotere (or Taxol) you're on. I had that, too. Mine kind of felt like my muscles were exhausted from exercise, but I hadn't done anything. 4 months out of chemo and I still occassionally get that feeling. It's a weird feeling, I know, but it will fade.
Best wishes for a relaxing weekend. Don't try to do too much!

Hi! I'm glad your not as nauseated. I took ativan, I tried the compazine just a few times, and liked ativan better. I only needed the neulasta one time as my counts were good all the others.
I hope you get to go for your trip this weekend and you have a wonderful time. Make sure you rest when you need to though.

HI Elm
Sorry to hear that you were so sick after the chemo...It does help to keep something in your stomach and to push liquids. Sounds like the port worked better for you. I am glad you got the spray if you couldnt get the emla cream.
Hope you get out of town this weekend for a well deserved break
Hugs
