Your garden sounds great! What do you do with glass??
Jan, if you are interested, you can go on my webshots link and see the projects I have done! The link is on my "about me" page. Been doing it for about 3 years, with a break during chemo, then started again.
My yard is a jungle half the time, but I do try taming it somewhat. I like the wildness of it a lot.

Thanks Jackie for your sweet compliments! I am glad you liked my photos. I will post new ones when my summer flowers start blooming, as, I look forward to yours too! Hi Rjjj, My mother and father plant a garden, vegetable/flower, every year now. My father is the one the does most of the work. He has planted bell peppers-all colors, jalepeno peppers, tomatoes, squash, lettuce, onions and watermelon. So far everything is doing well.
One of these days, I'm going to have a rose garden. I have 3 plants so far.
Love and gentle hugs,

I visited your site. Wow, they're really good. I'd like to rhyme off my favourites but there are too many. Although the Calla Lilly's are really quite exceptional. Thanks for directing me to it.

You found the perfect group, though sorry for the reason you're here. Yes, we wholeheartedly support and encourage each other all along the breast cancer journey. Yet, we do also enjoy the relief of fun!
I, too, am an avid gardener. I often refer to gardening as "holistic" therapy - good for the mind and the soul.
If you'd like, please feel free to start your own thread (topic of discussion) and introduce yourself to the entire group. You'll be welcomed that way by many, I can assure you.
Best wishes to you, Leeza.
Kind regards, Susan
P.S. TO JACKIE: Awesome idea for a thread! I can't wait to enjoy the bounties of your gardening efforts, come this December! :-)
Thank you for the warm welcome! I like this site already!0 -

Hi, Well lets see I got squash, and zucchini and tomatoes and melons. Lots of flowers and the weeding is breaking my back. LOL by the way asparagus is also good for Cancer.
Tj
We plant tomatoes, peas ( which are a lot of trouble for not much of a harvest lol ) radishes, green beans and peppers. Everything just tastes so fresh from your own garden, doesn't it? Thanks for this Jackie!0 -

We love tomatoes and plant different varieties. And, usually have way too many and give them to anyone and everyone. lol We planted sweet corn this year for the first time, so, we will see. We do love it, but, it is so cheap to buy in the store or the farmer's market that I am not for sure it is worth the trouble to plant it. lol Planted green beans, peppers, potatoes and radishes this year too.0 -

And if you click on my expressions page you can see some of my flowers. I love to make jam, raspberry, strawberry. And love to pickle green beans! Yum-O. Also can beans in a pressure canner. I used to do up spaghetti sauce with meat, and stew meat. But, the last couple of seasons have been taken by procedures-surgeries-recovery etc... so just made sure I did the staples. My kids say my jam is "liquid gold".
Happy Gardening!0 -

I just joined and saw this. It is nice to just see normal subjects and to get away from the big C convo for awhile. So, hi, I am Leeza. I only grow tomatoes, but, have my flowers too. I think that working in flowers is great therapy!
Welcome to you! I'm so happy that you found us!
I think that you will enjoy this board and everyone here. I know that I certainly have.
I agree with Christmas Girl......start a thread introducing yourself and soon, everyone will get to know you. And you will get to know all of us in short order.

My garden is a rose garden across the front of my house. If I knew how to embed a photo into this post I would-- they are beautiful. When I go to the cancer center I try to take several rose buds to the receptionist.

I have to work on my reading skills. When I read your post I thought it said, My garden is a rose garden across from my house. And then you said you try to take rose buds to the receptionist. All I was picturing was you going over to your neighbors and snipping off all their rose buds. I actually pictured the middle of the night and you in camoflauge gear. OKay, maybe not that sleathy. You get the picture. Not that your neighbors would begrudge you some rose buds, just a flash of a scene in my head. Then I read the post correctly. Sitll a lovely thing for you to do, without the danger of stealing the neighbors buds. Although, that has sort of an Alice In Wonderland sort of feel to you. Instead of painting the roses red and some shouting OFF WITH HIS HEAD, you were snipping the rose's head and probably painting the town red. It must be too early in the morning for me, I ramble.
Anyway, it's a lovely thing, bringing roses to treatment.

Good Morning Stef, you had me in stitches reading your description of Bill in his cammo while conducting his rose theft mission. Thanks for the laugh, and yes Bill that certainly is a nice thing to do taking the roses to treatment. I sure would love to see them!

Now, after reading everyone else's posts, I feel like I need to plant more stuff in my garden. Wonder if it is too late? Guess I will ask the garden center people. Now, what else to plant? That is the question LOL0 -
