    flower creatures
    While we were in Hawaii we saw this little lizard on a Bird of Pardise and he stayed put long enough for me to snap the photo. We liked it so much I had it put on a coffee mug for my husband.

    I have planted peppers,
    I have planted peppers, tomatoes, spanish flat beans, swisschard, lettuce, collard greens, and of course my flowers. I have hot pink geraniums, mandeville, roses, vincas, moon lily, irises, peonies, and many more, I will post pictures when they are a little bigger.

    It is funny though. I have never seen one that small, if it is a grasshopper. At first, I thought it was a praying mantis. Talk about weird, those mantis's are strange creatures. lol Spider webs are really cool! I've never taken a pic of one, but, I bet if the sun was behind it or if it had a little morning dew on it, it would be an amazing picture! OMG..I just wrote morning dew..LOL ( for those that don't know..i am not telling lol )

    RE, I love that! And, what a beautiful picture! Quite the photographer you are! And, what a novel idea to put it on a coffee mug. I have had pics put on a mousse pad before, but, a coffee mug would be nice. I will have to do that!

    Still planting and planting and planting
    Guess what I ate today? Broccoli from my garden! I bought it as a 6-pack and when the little stick said "early" it wasn't kidding. I also am growing tomatoes of all kinds and peppers of all kinds and cilantro and garlic and hoping the tomatillas will show up. Onions and potatoes and peas are all up. I have all kinds of squash. I planted brussel sprouts. Oh and corn. I still haven't planted radishes and carrots, but spinach and lettuce is up. I think I'm too late for kohlrabi. I have chives, oregano and sage and thyme, but my husband killed the lavender. Husbands can be very hard on gardens.

    The early bulbs and primroses are about done and the crown tulip hasn't crowned...don't know why. The lilies are up and some kinds are blooming. I grow scarlet runner and morning glories as a kind of shade. I also have roses and echinacea and hollyhocks and columbine galore. The lilacs, roses and peonies are just blooming now. There is also red and white yarrow.

    We also have strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. We have a cherry tree (got frosted this year, though), three pear trees, two apple trees, and a plum tree. We have wild plums and a wild apple tree out in our pasture.

    I was so sick from chemo and then away for radiation last summer that everything went to weed and I thought at first that making a garden happen was hopeless, I was so overwhelmed. I have an infestation of a weed called goosefoot buttercup and it just went wild last summer. It can beat out grass. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I try to be organic. Some friends have really helped out. And my husband, poppy and lavender killer that he is, still has done a creditable job helping, especially trying to mulch out the dread buttercup.

    No beans, you say? Well, it's a no bean year.

    Isn't he the one on the geico car insurance commercial?? He's famous!!! Those are one of my favourite plants......so exotic!

    Jeanne, it was actually strung across the pond and the spider was HUGE, so I took a pic to show everyone at work. The web was taken down every morning by all the little critters that visited the pond, dragonflies, birds, coyotes, etc. So it was rebuilt again each nite. I would go out at nite just to see how it was doing. Now that I remembered, I am going to search my pc for it.

    One of my roses........
    This is one of my roses. It's a transplant I took from a large, old rose that was here when we moved in 16 yrs. ago. I'm told that the original rose bush is almost a century old.

    Wow,you guys are
    all such green thumbs-not me! I have enough attention span for landscaping to mow the lawn,do some occasional weeding and some pruning when it needs done. So whenever I want to enjoy some lovely flowers,I'll just come here-thanks!

    I also had a large strawberry patch, but worked it under a few years ago.

    I LOVED the strawberries! But so did snakes! They would sun themselves on the straw between the rows. Ick. Not a snake lover.................

    Hey Tasha,
    Hope I didn't insult you talking about the pot of tea! A friend of mine who was Scottish and her parents lived in England set me straight once and told me that all of England didn't naturally like tea. I just said that about tea because I like drinking it, myself!
