I think I live in a hot zone too-Central New York State. Wonderful that you have found support-these boards are awesome too. PEACE, Anne0 -

For your confirmation of my useless BC factoid. Which was, by the way, originally provided to me by my onc. And I will REITERATE - he/I stated MAJORITY, which allows for exceptions!
Seems that MOST who responded are the exceptions (ooops! I mean EXCEPTIONAL!)

My dad was ambidexterous. That's because he was left handed in a time that it was looked at as a handicap. So he had to use his right as much as possible to cover up the 'handicap'. I am right handed but now wish I had used my left more.0 -

I know what you mean about an epidemic. It is only after you've been diagnosed that you notice how many other survivors there are out there. Anne, if you haven't already done so I encourage you to start another thread introducing yourself. I'm afraid your post might get lost in this thread, and I know everyone wants to meet you. Cheers.

I was diagnosed while living in Connecticut and I saw a report that said Connecticut had the most cases of breast cancer diagnosed per capita of all the states. I had only lived there for 5 months before diagnosis.0 -

That's distressing. I wonder if those percentages change/waver over time/years?
I also live in a REGIONAL "hot spot" - where the numbers are higher than both the rest of my state and the national average.
Geez...

It probably does change over the years because what in life stays the same? Plus just the fact I was living there when diagnosed means I'm counted too and my oncologist said my cancer probably had started a year before so that means it started in Texas. Complicated thing placing blame.0 -
