Dmont0703 - it is ok to be scared - because this is scary! So good to hear you are working with a gyn onc - and your 'plan' sounds similar to a lot of us here, so don't hesitate to ASK.
Hello all, are you ladies able to read my message?0 -
To sissa60
I had chest pain for a week or a little more after my last surgery. I went to the ER but the diagnosis was just unspecified chest pain. I decided to look up costochondritis, which I'd seen frequently in the charts in the ER where I had previously worked. The description of it fit me to a T. Costochondritis is chest wall pain, which might be similar to the pain in the sternum. Some other person on here suggested it might be from the position I was put in during surgery, and I think they were probably right about that. My surgery lasted several hours, so I was in the odd position all that time.

I never had any bleeding onesissa60 said:Scared
Hello All,
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with me, gving me some good advices. The fear i had on the first day i was diagonse with Serous Carcinoma (1A) is back. I started having sopts of blood again after over two month of full hysterectomy (May 3, 2018). i had chemo (carboplatin/Taxol) twice so far. I vested my oncologist.gynecologist last Monday July 9. He checked, told me there is an open wound, probably it might be from the chemo effect and he will check it two weeks after my last chemo which will be on July 23, 2018.
Does anyone in the board has any suggestion what this might be? I am scared, I don't know if the cancer (UPSC) is reoccurring or not, beccasue the doc told me previously that he is doing chmo just for protection.
Any Suggestion or any questions that might will be appropriate to ask my doctorer will be appreciated. I am glad i am not alone.
My prayers for all.
I never had any bleeding when my hysterectomy healed. Could it be that some stitches are compromised?

I had spotting the first few weeks after surgery, but none since. It's likely not a big deal, but it is one of the things my oncologist said to look for and call immediately if you see any spotting or blood. So I would call your Dr to be sure.

Hi Sissa,
That is great news. I also am stage 1A UPSC. Mine was microscopic, dr told me I was in my "own class." I too had 3 rounds of carbo/taxol and so far 2 checkups with my 3rd coming up the end of this month. It is good you came back to get that 2nd opinion.
My best to you,
Sandra

HI EVERYONE,
I was not getting response lately for some reason, I was told by my doctor that i am free of cancer and I posted it I don’t know if you ladies got it or not. I have another appointment coming up on Monday, in which he will determine if I need radiation or not. Do any one of you had radiation after you were cleared?
Your suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

I was diagnosed with uterine
I was diagnosed with uterine carcinoma in June after months of unexplained bleeding. I went through menopausse 15 years ago. Biopsy done and sure enough, it was cancer. I walked around in a daze for weeks, had a hysterectomy on July 9th. I had never even been in a hospital much less cut into other then having my daughters 40+ years ago! I had a big mass in my uterus which is where the cancer was, along with 37% of the muscle in my uterus contained cancer cells. I am six weeks post op and both my gyn/cancer doctor and radiologist recommend five rounds of vaginal brachytherapy. Has anyone out there had this done? What kind of side effects did you have? I have to say, the side effects i have read online are not pleasant. However both drs recommend highly i get this radiation done just in case the cancer appears outside my uterus at some point.

I was diagnosed with Stage 1A, grade 2 and had a DaVinci total hysterectomy on May 11. The doctor did not initially recommend brachytherapy, but when I inquired she was on the fence and said it was up to me. I felt I should do whatever I could to prevent a recurrence and decided to go ahead with it. I had 5 brachytherapy treatments which I finished on July 11. I had absolutely no side effects.

Do you actually live in New Jersey?
I am from there too. Where did you have youu operation done, if you want to share?
For stage 1A the protocol is no treatment after surgery, even with grade 2. Was your tumor in the lower uterine segment?
How about pelvic wash and/or lymphovascular space invasion?
Take care!0 -
