New Enrollment
I was diagnosed June 27, 2012 with T2N2CM0 Stage IV SCC (HPV+) primary right tonsil with left and right lymph node involvement.
First surgery conducted on July 3, 2012. They conducted a right radical tonsillectomy, left tonsillectomy, partial BOT glossectomy and some other stuff that I dont remember.
Wisdom teeth removed July 25, 2012.
Started treatment on August 6, 2012 which consisted of 6 weeks of chemo (Cisplatin) and Rads concurrently.
Radical Neck Dissection performed on November 8, 2012.
First NED given on November 16, 2012.
I recently returned to work and started my physical rehab, which is kicking my butt. I went into my first surgery weighing 225 lbs and came out of treatment at 165 lbs. So, i have a lot of work to do in order to return to my fighting weight.
As of today I feel great and look forward to deploying with my guys in the very near future.

Checking in for 2013. Caretaker of husband Jim who was diagnosed with base of tongue stage 4 and two lyph nodes in April 2011, 35 rads, 2 cisplatin, 3 erbitux. Finished August 2011. Three months later spread to both lungs. September 2012 told less than a year to live. Started gaining weight Jan. 2013. Still believe in miracles. Hope it is not too late! Husband Pat diagnosed stage II cancer of epiglottis May 2008, treated with chemo & rads. Recurrence in lymph nodes (4) with extracapuslar spread in April 2009, radical neck dissection, chemo and reirradiation. For today NED on head and neck cancer. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) diagnosed 2000, finally needed treatment Jan - June 2012. Complete remission (yes!), but fighting lung infections due to compromised immune system. Overall, quality of life is good. Working full time, playing full time and eating just about anything. I worry always about recurrence, second primary and side effects, but husband does not. He just lives life to the fullest each day.
Have not posted much lately, but always follow the board. I am always uplifted by the victories, large or small, and am always broken hearted by the losses. Each and every one of you are in my prayers always.

Ditto1 (patient) and TheOtherDitto (caretaker). Ditto1 had stage IV BOT, multiple lymph nodes on both sides. Dx in March 2012 began treatment in June 2012, finished treatment August 2012. 2 cisplatin (3 weeks apart) then 9 Erbitux concurrent with 33 rads. CT in October was clear, PET in Dec was concerning so additional biopsies were done Jan 16, 2013. Unofficially all clear - will have follow-up from biopsies on Jan 26th, 2013.
