Husband NED after 82 rounds of chemo
As many of you know, **** has been fighting cc for the past 3 years. He was stage 3c when diagnosed in January 2009. He has had 2 surgeries and 82 rounds of chemo. He was NED from June 2010 till a scan in January 2011 showed cancer back in his lungs. For the past year he has been on Folfori + Avastin. In November 2011 he thought the chemo every other week was going to kill him. He switched to chemo every 3 weeks. He started to feel so much better. After Christmas he started eating a special diet called "4 hour body". He wanted to lose some extra weight so he would feel better. The diet is similar to "anticancer" but includes more meat and fish. I bring the diet up because last week he had all number on his labs as normal. (His CEA has never been a marker). He is also working out a lot when he is not on chemo.
Yesterday he had a PET scan. We were both very, very nervous about it. Although he felt good we both know better than to get our hopes up. We picked up the results of the scan and it showed "No evidence of disease" - NED. We were both totally surprised. We know that bits of cancer still lurk and **** will continue with chemo every three weeks. He will talk to the onc next week and let him know that he does not want to go off chemo right now. He hates feeling so sick on chemo but he does not want the cancer growing again. We feel like we are getting a break and we so appreciate it.
We know that many of you and your loved ones are suffering so much. We always remember our CSN friends in our prayers.
I wanted to share the good and very unexpected news.
Aloha,
Kathleen

Would you share the 4 hour body plan
Hi **** and Kathleen,
What great news...I can't imagine the stress the two of you have been under during this time! Keep believing in the cure~
I was diagnosed Stage 3 Rectal Cancer in 2010...NED now but would be interested in this 4 hour body plan that you speak about. Would you share it with me?
I will continue to pray for both of you along with all the members on this Colorectal site! Thank you for your courage to share with others and your determination to win the battle.

Blessings to you both ~
