    I wasn't one of them. I have read in my searching that unknown primaries fair a few points higher on the curable statistical scale which is somewhat puzzling. Who would have thought that?

    I had an unknown primary. For me, good and bad. Good in that after all the scans and biopsies of tonsils / tongue nothing was found. Bad in that I was treated with the kitchen sink...35 rads to all sides of neck and seven concurent chemo treatments...

    Great...that at 16 months post treatment...no evidence of disease!

    Husband diagnosed with stage four base of tungue cancer end of May. Have no experience with the inknown primary but you are in my prayers. You will find a lot of support and info here.

    Glenn had an unknown primary after, what seemed to me, an exhaustive search.

    I can remember not really knowing what to think about that. Was it good? Was it bad? Was it a worse case scenario? It didn't seem to rattle the Drs. who said they'd seen it before and knew what to do.

    The radiation treatment covered a broader area (like the WHOLE area)and Chemo was given.

    Here we are 14 months post treatment and NED. He can eat anything he wants and proved that by eating half my popcorn at the movie theatre in June.

    My husband has an unknown primary. The Doc that put his port in said that was good news because the origin was so small. We hadn't thought of it that way! Neil finished treatment yesterday. 10 chemos, 36 rads.

    I didn't, but as you can see SEVERAL folks here started their cancer journey with an unknown primary, and are now doing well. Hope you join their ranks soon - keep us posted.
