I wasn't going to post, then changed my mind.
In October it will be 2 years from the recurrence. Today, I had a CT scan because the CA 27.29 test showed a high of 52 (normal high is <38). Doctor said that it is a mild elevation and uninterpretable. All other tests for the blood were normal. The tests were taken during my 3 month check up.
For the first two cancers, I was alone with all decisions. I did not find this board until after my radiation due to the recurrence. I was not going to post but then decided that I don't want to be alone. So, let's hope that this time I do not get that slap in the face because this time I have found you, my sisters. I should hear from the doctor tomorrow. Wish me luck. I still believe that I will live to 90's.
Lots of Hugs
Janelle

Glad you posted.
Hi Janelle -- My wish is that you make it to 100. I want all of us to live really long lives.
Thank you for letting us know what's going on. And I pray that your Dr. doesn't even have to call because there is nothing of a concern to share. I pray that your results are good.
Please keep us posted. I hope you have a good rest sleep tonight. I know how waiting can mess up our beautiful sleep. Stay and think positive.0 -
Janelle, I also had DCIS. I
Janelle, I also had DCIS. I had a bilateral mastectomy last January. I am so thankful for your posts about your story because I have horrible luck and many other things wrong with my health. I think of your story to be very proactive about my follow up treatment and knowing that when medical professionals poo-poo that I will more than likely never have cancer again, I know that there is always a chance. I guess you could say it keeps me on guard and should I so signs, I know to be aggressive in making the docs believe.
I wish you the best of luck right now. I am going out of town tomorrow thru sat. and will be looking to see how things turned out for you tomorrow.0 -

We always hear those low recurrence percentages (I know that's what I've been told) but I always have that little niggling fear that I could be that 1%. I'm so sorry you turned out to be the 1%. This isn't the time any of us wants to be 'very rare'--that's just a little too special!
We're pulling for you for great news tomorrow. Be sure to post!
