Of course I am not talking about my lovelly wife.

I am the first patient on the day surgery list today, need to be at the hospital 6.45am.

I am going to miss you old bag, its been so much fun.

Just when I'd forget you you would find a way to remind you are there and you care.

By bursting or sprining a little leak. Even last night out to dinner after swimming my 50 laps, well the glue almost made it. Lucky it was not a classy restaurant.

Will be away for a week or so. wish me luck for the triffeca.

1. bag off stoma reversal
2. Port out
3. colonoscopy

The colonoscopy is the one I am a little nervous about. But I will find out tomorrow.

The port out is just so fantastic, its never going to come back I pray.

See ya all in a week!!! I have told my friends I am doing an advanced toilet training seminar. They got the message I think.

Hope its a great week for us all.

hugs,

Pete

    Yay!
    Hi Pete,

Hoping and praying all goes well for you with the reversal surgery/bag takedown. It will be a process to get your body used to working the right way again, I hear, but I know you will tackle it well. What a great milestone!
Let us know how it goes, of course.

    Cheers,
    Lisa

    It's a helluva feeling
To spend your last night with that darned bag.... I remember MINE... the seal broke about 3 o'clock in the morning, but walking into the bathroom to clean myself up I had a smile on my face, mumbling to myself, "I don't matter b%$$#h, you're going away in a matter of hours anyways"

It's gonna hurt Pete, but it's WELL worth it, in my opinion at least :D

    the quiet before the storm
    hi everyone.

So far so good. Touch wood(tapping my head)

The net on my phone is great. I stayed away from you guys as long as i could about a day.
Been drifting in and out of sleep.

Been resting. Messaging. Had some visitors and calls.

Just got my first morphine injection. No pain now. But its not been to bad at all.
Early days but no big reopen just all done through stoma hole.

    Been patched up with collagen.

My port is gone. So is the bag.

The best news is the coloscopy was clear.

The nurses here all remembered me from october 2010. Been absolutely spoilt.
Saint vincents in sydney seems to me to be staffed by angels.
And mostly sexy angels at that.

Bp preop 120/82 postop 90/49 now its climbed over the arvo
to 112/72. Interesting watching my body comeback to life.

Just had my first hit morphine and am about to try to walk.
Ancienttiger you are right about the pain ouch!

Still no breeze in here. Waiting for a good breeze before i can go sailing.

Dinner smelt lovelly but i could not touch. Waiting for the wind to really pickup.
    Need a weather change downunder.

    Yipee and thankyou god.

    Thanks for the kind thoughts.
    Hugs

    thanks graciedarren gold
    thanks gracie

darren gold wonder surgeon popped in to admire his handy work.
Probably no food for 2 to 3 days. No point rush goto let intestine heal.
peristalsis has to happen in its own time after intestine nerve damage settles down . our bodies ar marvellous.

No appetite either but the food smells good. This saint vincent hospital has great food. It bugs me that everytime i stay i cannot eat. The joys of colorectal cancer.
    Ha ha ha

lots of friends big surgery, not to many this time around, glad i can post and read.

took 30 hours for bp to stablise and for pulse to go from 45 to 85.

    thanks for the kind wishes.
    Hugs
