I will hold you, your
John
I will hold you, your wife, child, family and friends in my thoughts and prayers over the coming hours, days and weeks ahead. Your fight is our fight and we will carry that with us as we move forward, never forgetting and always remembering. Rest well John, rest well.0 -
Thanks
John,
Wishing you peace, and thanks for all the help you gave us.
Through you and others on this board...you gave us hope and the confidence
to ask questions, and somehow feel we knew what to expect.
You have been a "trailblazer" as mentioned earler...it is so sad cancer can destroy
the lives of such great people. Peace to you and your family

Oh Dear John....I am shocked
Oh Dear John....I am shocked by the raw candor of your words. I wish for you the most peaceful journey
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.

Oh, my
Wow, everyone has said such beautiful things. If your message wasn't painful enough...i'm drenched in tears.
You are such an important member of this board, John. What are we going to do without you? I wish to God there was some way to change this. Why can't we just reach into our bodies, and scrape off the disease from our organs, and that would be that?
Like everyone else on this board, my heart is breaking, and i am cyber hugging you, and comforting you, and telling you my vision of heaven, which is just the same as the most beautiful, and peaceful place you've ever seen in your life; times ten.
I pray your passing is painless, and that the warmth of everyone's love engulfs you and carries you home.
Many hugs, and much love.

May you have many good days left on earth
Dear John,
I am so sad to read your post. You've been such a big positive part of this board and you will truly by missed by all of us. My precious husband David was in your same situation. He was told in April last year about his liver failure and went on hospice. He lived five more months and had some very good days. In fact most of them were very good. He was not in pain and I doubt you will be either. Please know what a precious difference you have made in the lives of so many.
Wishing you love,

Dear One,
I have been trying to write something meaningful to you but I can not find the right words. All I know is that you have so freely given of yourself to us. You have shared from the depths of your heart, soul and mind. Always ready to help and share your experiences with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your selfless service to our country and for all the trails you have blazed in this crazy cancer battle. You will never be forgotten. I think of you often and still when I realize a breath I take I think and pray for you my friend.
May the Lord bless you and hold you in His loving arms. Peace and comfort to you.

What a Great Man
For so long you have stared this disease in the face and with great dignity you have fought it. Many battles you have won and some you have lost but over the course of your battle you gave cancer all it could handle. So now your body has said it can fight no more and soon you will be at peace. But know this my friend that although your body will no longer walk this Earth your spirit will live on in the eyes of your son and in the hearts of your family here. When your time does come and you take your last breath I hope you can hear all of us here saying thank you for all that you stood for. I pray that your family will find comfort and peace in knowing that you are no longer suffering and you are in a place where cancer is not even a word spoken. God Bless you my friend and good bye.0
