Two Year Post PET Scheduled
PET is scheduled for July 6th, 8:30 AM.... It doesn't seem to matter, these things still give me anxiety. Not the tests themselves, the waiting of the results.
Usually I have them make me a desk copy that I can pick up 24 hours later and a week before the follow-up with the MD.
With all of the recent events with close friends and forum members, I'm finding myself a bit gun shy about doing that.
Anyways, keep me and Shelley in your thoughts and prayers please....
Best,
John

I CAN RELATE
John, words cannot express how we feel before an important scan and exam. I feel for you just having gone through this last week. Intuition is a funny thing, but my intuition tell me your scans will be clean and all will be good.
I think the "desk copy" or what ever other "trump cards" you can use to get your results faster is the way to go.
Positive thoughts from my family to yours.
All will be good.
Best!!

John,
Only one thing to do to keep your mind off it - Fish, Bro'!!
Know the feeling though, got a scan coming up in a few weeks myself. Guess it comes with the territory to be anxious about those.
Positive thoughts and energy headed your way Skiff.

Prayers outbound for your coming scan.
I don't think he needs more encouragement to go fishing, since these days he is becoming known as 'the guy with the fish'. Lol0 -

LOL - Sweet. Hadn't heard that. (He probably likes that nickname too much though)
At first I was going to ask John - how did he get those 3 groupers to pose like that? (but I didn't want to be too orney)....... And then I recognized him as the one on the left.0 -

I understand the anxiety. Believe it or not last week my ENT insisted I get my very first PET scan (I've been cancer free for 15 years). He was worried and wanted to make certain I didn't have a lower skull tumor. I should have taliked to you guy first, I ASSUMED a PET scan was just a simple in-and-out process. Didn't know you had to get an injection and swallow all that mess and then wait in a quiet room. I would have run it through my peg if I'd known that. Skull showed up clean and the only issue was the scar tissue left over from three recent bouts with pneumoia.
That was all good new but the bad news was I met my next door neighbor there and he just found out he has esopgegal cancer stage IV. I'll be helping them out as much as possibe and as much as they will allow.
Ya'll take care and John - good luck on your PET :>)

"Let me also express my gratitude to you out-of-treatment guys who stay with this board and give perspective and hope to so many. When things get a little bleak around here I have been known to quote Hondo and Skiffin AKA that guy with a fish. Some boy scouts get little old ladies across the street, others post to this board. Many thanks to all.
Regards,
Nancy"
From her first post on 6-19. So you're that guy with a fish.
I didn't like the color on the last photo. It was annoying me. Every time I saw it, it made me think I was jaundice. It had to go, was giving me bad memories and feelings. Pink is a happier color and I don't look jaundice in this one.0 -

Had my 2 year Pet Scan on the 6th of June, and had the results told to me on the 10th. My Oncologist informed me and my wife that EVERYTHING WAS TOTALLY CLEAR....and he reached down and popped open a small bottle of Korbel Brut for the 3 of us with these plastic flutes. The Chemo staff then joined us with some great cupcakes and lots of hugs. He gave me a CD of the Scan, and told me to come back in a year. Spent the next week in Hawaii with my wife, and I'm off to Jacksonville Beach this Saturday to help my kid move into her new house on the beach. I've got a feeling that you'll come through this with flying colors........at least no red areas . Prayers and thoughts will be sent your way.

Anxiety
After having just been through extreme anxiety at the 20 month check up point, it is fresh in my mind exactly what you and Shelly are going through. Luckily, Pats doctor emailed us the results of the PET as soon as he got them, which happened to be the same day! Since the dr appt wasn't until 10 days later it was much appreciated. I know how you feel, though, about worrying about getting the results early. BIG prayers are with you and Shelly. Two years is a big one. Please keep us posted!

Shout Out Prayers
Shout out prayers being sent your way for wisdom over the days ahead.
I have used these scans for many years as a confirmation test of what I believe and continue to believe, NED is my buddy.
Looking for daily catch pictures between now and your scan.... rest well.

Congrats on the "all clear". Sounds like the doc, medical staff, you, your wife and kids have the celebrating thing down pat.0
