not the news anyone wants to hear
thank you, all my sisters and brothers in pink, i don't know how i would get through this without you.
p.s. it turns out that my dr. knows meena's dr. personally and they are in discussions about my case, trying to save me the hassle of traveling to see him in person, but we will have to see what comes of that.

Oh, Heidi I am so sorry to
Oh, Heidi I am so sorry to hear your news. But then I read the p.s. and saw that your doctor knows my doctor, so I am hoping that he can do something for you. He is in an expert in IBC. But if you do have to come to Philly, let me know! This cancer is so aggressive it is so scary. I guess I have been "lucky" (and i use that word loosely), that I am Her2 positive so I can get Herceptin. We are praying for you0 -
so sorry -with your dr appt...
I will be thinking of you daily..hoping your feel better and so sorry about being in pain!

Heidi, I am so sorry for this terrible news. I will continue to pray for you in the hope there will be some good news in the future.
Take care, Cindy
Heidi, I don't know what to say. This is awful, just awful. I will pray that there is a chemo or something out there that can help you. I am glad your oncologist knows Meena's. Maybe something good will come from that.
Prayers for you,
Leeza0 -

Heartbreaking...
Absolutely the worst sort of update - what we all fear. Damned evil beast has a mind of its own...
With continued prayers, I'm sincerely hoping the collaboration between doctors will result in a more positive prognosis, Heidi. Including relief from your pain as quickly as possible.
I have typed the following words too many times here on the board: I really, really wish I had a magic wand...
Wishing you inner strength and resolve, to continue the good fight.
Kindest regards, Susan0 -

to hear this news, You are in my prayers and I hope they can find a way to help you!
And is there anyway to manage your pain?
Your Doctors will also be in my thoughts that they will be able to find a way make your pain managable and that they can come up with a chemo that will help.
I too am triple negative:(
Lots of Hugs and well wishes coming your way.

So, So Sorry...
it truly sucks! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Have you looked into "Therasphere" radiation therapy for your liver mets? It's somewhat new and not available everywhere, but they are finding it to be very promising for liver cancer and liver mets. If you google "Therasphere Therapy" you should find a link to their webesite.
They place little glass beads directly into the liver through an artery in the leg. The radiation from the beads kills the liver mets without killing other healthy surrounding tissue. It's done on an outpatient bases and the side effects are minimal.
I know that they will only do it if the cancer hasn't spread too far. But you could still be a canadate even with a few mets elsewhere. It may be worth looking into as it could give you more time. As for the doctor's prognosis, remember they are only doctor's and are giving you their best guess! I have several friends that had liver mets and mets to other areas that were told they only had months, but lived for quite a bit longer!
I know it's not what anyone want to hear, but you have to keep fighting and make the most of everyday. Oh...and the doctor's should be able to control your pain! You may want to look into seeing a pain specialist. There is no reason cancer patiences have to be in pain these days.
Blessings,
