you are NOT going to believe this one!

she comes out to get me and says that my radiation oncologist wants to see me. dr. w asked me if anyone had talked to be about the pathology from the gall bladder surgery. i said no and asked if i was going to need tissues. with tears in her eyes, she hands me the box and says you have breast cancer in the gall bladder. WHAT? HOW CAN THIS BE?? she is flabbergasted by this - there is a lot of pain in the bone on my right hip, she says this doesn't surprise her, but we have to wait until monday to know the full impact.
bottom line is i will have be on some kind of chemo for the rest of my life.
a year ago today, i had my first chemo treatment ever. this was not the way i wanted to celebrate this milestone.
i don't know what to say or feel at this point.

Sorry to hear this dear friend. I don't know what to say. I will definitely keep you in my prayers and please let me know if I can do anything for you. Hugs, Jean
Dear Heidi what can I say but that sucks big time! Since joining this exclusive club I keep thinking of what Mother Teressa said once something to the effect that God will not give us more burdens than we can carry but she wished he didn't have so much confidence in her some times.
My thought and prayers are with you.

Words just cannot express how sad I am for your news. You are in my prayers. Keep fighting, dear sister. We are all behind you.

I also have IBC which has spread. I have also been told that I have been told that I may have to be on chemo for the rest of my life! Inflammatory Breast Cancer is very aggressive, I feared this when I read you post about your surgery. Right now I am on Taxatere and Carboplatin, Herceptin and zometa and I am responding well. I have sent you a PM, I am going to the country (if not worlds) expert in Inflammatory Breast Cancer in Philadelphia. He has helped me, there is hope for you, there is NOTHING he does not know about IBC. He may be able to help you. Please let me know how you are0 -

Heidi, I am so sorry to hear
Heidi, I am so sorry to hear your news. God I hate this beast! Please know you are in my prayers. But also know that many can live a long, long time with mets. I was diagnosed in April 2009 with bone mets. I know I will probably die of this disease but I will LIVE every day that I can. Hang in there my friend. Your sister warriors are with you.0 -

I am so sorry that
Heidi,
I am so sorry that this was the outcome of your surgery. Please know I will keep you in my prayers. Everytime I look at my angels I will think of you and say a prayer. There are others that are facing this as well and I know some have chimed in and others will. This is so not the news I wanted you to hear. Months after I had uterine cancer, I had my gall bladder out and asked if it was possible that it would be cancerous and I was told that it was unlikely. The pathology on mine was fine but now I can see that I was very lucky as it does happen. I can only say, try to take each day, each step one at a time. And that you are not alone. Countless sisters are here for you. Big hugs coming your way.

Heidi this has been a tough go of it. Who would think it would be in the gallbladder! Glad they are consulting Meena's doctor and getting all opinions to stop this cancer in its tracks. I hope you are healing ok from your surgery and getting the rest you need. And hoping for some good news soon! Hugs Penny0
