This is something that has been bugging me for over a year

NDE ?
I won't go into what caused it, but it was a bad idea at the time.
White light, penetrating my translucent body as I rose weightlessly
prone to face the light...... Having memories of every detail of life's
experiences flash by, as a reflection of what's happened and what
I've become; how I got to that point..... and a voice asking
if I wanted to continue; is what brought me to that light worth
continuing into it, or would I rather go back..... would I rather live.
I chose to live, and instantly the light faded away and I grew heavy,
full of weight, fell flat on my back, nearly unable to get up; feeling
like lead.... and managed to breath, in spite of the noxious, poisonous
carbon monoxide fumes that nearly took my life....
When it's our time to go, we won't get the chance to choose.
(I don't subscribe to any organized religion, by the way...)
These experiences have been explained away by scientists,
biologists, etc., as being the result of the pupils of the eyes being
opened wide as death is about to happen, causing any light to
be interpreted by the brain as overwhelming and penetrating.
The passage of memories flashing by is explained as the mental
state using memory banks in an attempt to align reality from the
death experience; looking for something similar from the past
to relate to...
I really don't know what to make of it, except I was about to die,
and I chose to live.... and for some reason I beat the odds that
others in similar circumstances did not.
I don't think I deserved the choice, but have been grateful I had it.
Since then.... I have always considered myself to be on borrowed time.
Live life while you can.
John
PS:
For the record..... about eight years after that event, a routine
cardio exam indicated that my heart had stopped "8 or 9" years
prior to the exam. The doc asked me if I ever had a heart failure,
or had been hospitalized... I didn't mention the event, so we
left it at just a "strange reading".

not freaky at allKerry S said:so I am telling you all what happened
Ok, everybody is very open with this subject so I am telling you all what happened.
Remember I was on percocet and had a lot of blood loss. I was put in the hospital 2 days after this happened to fix the bleed. I did not know you guys back then, but I have to tell you I was not the positive mined guy at the time this happened that I am now.
What happened was I saw my dad who has been gone for 24 years. He grabbed me by the back of the neck and tossed me across the room. Saying in his angry voice “fight damn it”. I also saw all the members of my family that I knew and have passed on. They were on a grass area next to a running brook. They were all just smiling and waving to me. This was not anything like a dream. It was my turn around point in the battle. 3 days later I was scanned and found to be NED. See why I am a little freaked out about it.
Kerry
wow---what an experience! what comes to mind is the value of sharing this with others and sometimes it takes a story like this to believe there is a higher power and or of course it just instills in all us believers what great experiences will be in all our future. awesum!!!!

sister came to say goodbye
I haven't had the near death but my sister did come to me and tell me there was an emergency and to fly back home immediately. I was telling my husband about this weird dream when the phone rang and it was my other sister telling me to fly home asap because "Michy" had been in a car accident and had massive head injury. She never came to but we all had a chance to say good bye to her before we unplugged her. JIll0 -

He was river rafting with his friends when he was tossed out of the raft and his body was slammed against a tree that was under water. He knows that he was unconscious for a bit. He remembers seeing a bright light and felt himself going towards it. Before he got to it, he came to and started to struggle and couldn't get free from the tree limbs....he gave in, he was drowning. Then suddenly his body went limp, when it did, his body floated out from under the branches and he was free.0 -

Are all very amazing stories, why do we have to pm or email, lets just share our stories right here. I have always loved hearing about near-death experiences, and Kerry, don't be too freaked out, I've had my father come to me in my dreams, and I KNOW they're real, not just a dream. I can feel him and mom around me, I know people want to think it's strange if it hasn't happened to them, but everyone I believe has something happend to them, where you stand there and think, and not know what went on....things that make you go...Hmmm??
Hugsss!

I had my mom visit me in my dreams shortly after she had died. I was really missing her and having a really hard time with it. In the dream she showed me how beautiful Heaven was, beautiful white sandy beach with the bluest water, and that she was happy and at peace. I woke up from the dream still feeling very sad, later that same day I took a nap and had the very same dream, after I woke up that second time, I believed what she was telling me and to this day I still believe it really was her and not just a dream.
Thanks for sharing all of your stories, they are moving and give me chills just reading them, they also help me to not be afraid. I have met others that have had similar dreams of deceased loved ones.0 -

Wow, Gail, that is an amazing story. I would love to hear about the miracles. Take good care!
If thready will send me a reply including my answer to her, I can forward it to those who are interested. It's just hard to recount it all, and that way I won't have to try to recreate the wheel.
*Hugs*

You know I almost forgot until I started reading Phils post from last year.
Two years ago my sister in laws mother died and that night she came to be in a dream she was looking at me and telling me that she was fine in Spanish, there was also a song playing in the back ground, "It's a whole new World," at least I think that was the name of it. When I came up for the funeral, I mentioned it to my sister in law. She said OMG, that was the song this lady played while Mom was in hospice, she played it on a harp every day. I could not have known that I lived in Phoenix and she lived here in California.
That same sister in law sees this little girl outside of our town. The little girl around age 7=9 standing by the edge of road in a coat and a cap...she only sees her at night and not each time. This is a road that is traveled from our town in the country to go into Fresno.
My brother in law said he woke up to find this little girl rocking in his recliner. He went back to bed.
My nephew also sees a little girl playing in the hall and one time she came into his room while he was sleeping, he thought it was his little sister.....that night he slept with mom and dad, he was 17.0
