half way thru a/c chemo
Hi everyone, very cold and sunny here this Sunday morning. I go on Tuesday for my third A/C treatment and thought for future newcomers I should record a bit of my reactions to treatments. one thing, with me the blood counts the second week after each session so far have been the worst. everyone led me to expect that on A/C…

Thank God for This Group!!
Hi to all! I hope that everyone is having a good day today. I feel that I really "dumped" a couple of days ago, but being new to this type of thing, and a rather wordy person, I overkilled. Everyone here is really great and I look forward to hearing from everyone and getting to know you all. It is certainly an inspiration…

I have just had a modified rad. mastectomy with a reconstruction. I expect a report from a pathologist anytime. I don't know what my prognosis is at this time. But does anyone know if it is common to have parathesias(or abnormal sensations) immediately after surgery. I have what feel like electric shocks that come and go,…

Can I have some snow please?
We have a tropical heatwave at the moment. Very humid & 33 centigrade. Sleep just about impossible without air conditioning which we don't have. Just a ceiling fan. So can all you who still have some send me some snow to cool it all down a bit. Oh well soon be our wet season & I will be complaining again. Healthwise it's…

Hot Flashes
Could someone please help me? I'm 34 years old and experiencing the worst hot flashes ever. I have been put into pre-menopause by my oncologist. My cancer feeds off estrogen, therefore, no more estrogen. The only good thing I have found about this is "no periods". I have been on effexor for my hot flashes, but it doesn't…

burning sensation after radiation
today is new years eve and it is now been almost 5 weeks since I finished radiation. I really thought I was going to be feeling almost normal and celebrating like everyone. I just do not feel like celebrating yet. I still have a burning sensation in my upper back, shoulders and arms. i thought it might be from tamoxifen…

Results of CT Scan
Looks like I do have diverticulitis. It may be causing the pain in the side. But doesn't explain pain in hip or leg. The "bone changes" were on the first scan a year ago per the oncologist. If they had indicated cancer, the bone scan should have picked it up - at leastly logically it should have. Which it did not. But my…

New to CSN, 37 year old female
I have breast cancer and I had a masectomy with reconstructive surgery in December, and I just finished my second chemo treatment. I found this website and it looks very good. I would like to talk to other women who have been through this, especially regarding the reconstructive surgery. Also, does life ever return to…

Femara better than Tamoxifen?
Just found this article on Femara on my e-mail provider home page. Has any one any experience with this drug or any more news on it? Love to all Pam Femara is more effective than tamoxifen as a first-line treatment for breast cancer in post-menopausal women, say researchers. It belongs to a class of products known as…

Recurrance Breast Cancer
I have a niece of 22 years old. 2 years ago she was diagnosed to have breast cancer. After surgery she had radiatioan and chemo. And then she had tests for each 3 months. 6 months ago the doctor said that they want to extend this test to each 6 months. But last month after 4 days of suffering pain in her spine, and after…

Finished Four A/C
Just to let everyone know that tomorrow i do NOT have chemo, which is a wonderful thing! It is now three weeks since last A/C and i am beginning to feel normal again. Main thing i learned is that it seems impossible to predict how it will go. I never threw up, and effects varied each chemo. I think one and three were the…

ALND Decision????
In November, my wife had a sentinel node biopsy and a lumpectomy. The tumor was 2.5 X 2.5 X 2 cm and was diagnosed as "invasive ductal carcinoma with chondroid metaplasia" (not estrogen receptive). The lymph node biopsy yielded the following result: metastatic adenocarcinoma in 2 of 2 lymph nodes. Chemotherapy followed…

rowleycc-My opinion
Dear Jerry, I read your e-mail and I understand your apprehension about this procedure. It is not a definite thing that your wife will get lymphedema. Only 10% of patients who have this type of surgery do. I would definitely want to know if there were any cancerous cells left, so my opinion would be that if it was me,I…

Discussion format - mesmerizes
I think my spelling is off. But anyway I just discovered that trying to read all the way down the strings that it kind of puts you in a trance and you forget your troubles. Maybe Tony built it like that for a purpose. (smile). Before I read down the list I was really annoyed with the nurse that called today and gave me…

Tiger's Naked Dances
She must be a witch. They work!!! Full CT & MRI results are mostly good news. There is no sign of any liver abnormality. The lung tumours show "significant healing" (their words) and most of the spinal, pelvic and sacrum tumours show some reduction in size. There are no new lesions. The only problem areas are my ribs. The…

Anyone know about estring risks - I'm new to the group and just finishing chemo
Dear all, This is my first message. I've just been through lumpectomy, lymph node dissection and four courses of AC; next I start radiation and tamoxafin. I used the estring before breast cancer and it was great for menopausal vaginal dryness. Now I'm scared. My oncologist says no extra estrogen. But my breast surgeon and…

Some Test Results
Hi everyone. I have some of my results back from MRI. Good & bad news. Most of the tumors in spine are shrinking & showing good signs of healing taking place. One in neck is not & is now pressing on spinal cord - hence the pain I have been experiencing. He doesn't know why nearly all the other tumors are responding & this…

Breast Cancer Documentary
Hi, my name is Colt Hansen. I am a filmmaker, working on a documentary about my Grandmother who died of Breast Cancer when I was 2 or 3. My film will be a documentary of my personal journey to find out who my Grandmother was. The only connections I feel with her are from two things: one, my parents said that the morning…

Tigers test results!!!!!
Hello there all you wonderful, beautiful ladies!!!! I am going to make this sort and sweet(yeah, that would be a first!!) My cat scan showed that the tumours in my liver are " invisible within the normal margins of the cat scan" which basically means that if they did not know they were there, then they would not have been…
