First week of rads done
So I have had 5 treatments done so far. Not really a big deal..yet! Lets hope it stays that way. It is so tedious driving over there every dang day. I think that is going to get old, quick. One of the few things that keeps me motivated is that my rad tech is a really cute guy! WOOT WOOT!! Lucky me:) You think he likes…

Numbness
After reading Aztec's post where she mentioned going numb I was wondering if anyone else has a numbness? I had my 6th herceptin last Wed. and both arms, hands and around my mouth went numb. I had a little of it last time (with my 5th) but didn't think anything of it. Even today I still have some numbness. My oncol. thought…

Compression Sleeve
I made an appt. with a physical therapist to get a compression sleeve. She is a very nice little young lady. Anyway, I found out I need to wear a sleeve when I work due to the nature of my work (lot of lifting, climbing, carrying tools). When she measured me for the sleeve, she said my arm was slightly swollen so a sleeve…

Hooray!! Done with Chem.
I am so excited to say that I had my last and final chemo. treatment today. I feel great. The treatment went like clock work and took 1 hour less than it usually does. I will be having 6 weeks of radiation starting mid March and 11 more cycles of Herceptin but it is wonderful to have this part of my treatment done! Have a…

Abdomin Ascites fluid build up.....
Hi, Has anyone with ascites had a "denverbio" port installed in your upper abdomin in order to self drain your abdomin of fluid? My doctor suggested it yesterday. It looks scary to actually drain yourself but at the sametime, NOT being jabbed with a needle is great too. I looked at the patient usage video (you can go to…

8 pokes and nothing to show for it....
Hope everyone is getting ready for a great weekend. I plan on having a couple of strong drinks. I was to go in for my bone scan today, went to the hospital, where they tried eight times to find a vein....one in my hand, my wrist, my lower inner arm, two at the crook of the inner arm, one in each foot and finally tried the…

Hello all, I had my lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy on Tuesday and my pathology report just came in --I am officially Stage 1!! All 5 lymph nodes removed were negative and my margins were clear...I am feeling blessed and very grateful. I know I will still have radiation and not sure yet about chemo, but enjoying the…

What a relief to have that done! Whew! I had myself so upset and worried that I was almost sick. Why do we do that? Don't…

Anyone want to see my film?
Hey guys, as some of you know, I was working full time and attending film school part time when I was diagnosed in 2008. I had to drop out of school to do chemo and put my dreams on hold. Well, last month I started my program over again. It is a tiring schedule of 10 hours of class a week on top of my full time job, but I…

This is my very first post...diagnosed with BC in October, (you know the month when all those pink ribbons are constantly in your face as a reminder) In December had a lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy that showed NOT clear margins and a less than one mm tumor in lymph node. Just two weeks ago had a mastectomy and all…

I have a very dear friend who went with me to the hospital when I had my surgery in Jan. Met the surgeons and exchanged contact info, waited around until she was sure the mastectomy went well, then came back after 8 hrs to make sure she was there for me when I came out of surgery and said with me until she was sure I was…

Pathology report sniff sniff
Hi everyone, when I had my pt scan after A/C it had shown that all the cancer in my lymph nodes was gone, and my tumor had shrunk from 6cm down to 1, it was so exciting. Now after my surgery they sent my boobs, lymph nodes, and ovaries off to lab and the lymph nodes had shown cancer still in them. :( on a good note, my…

Yesterday was my third A/C infusion. Same nurse I had before (very good). This time, I bled more than usual at the site upon removal of cath. I have a round bruise covering the "nob" as I call it. Anyone have this problem? Should I be concerned? I'm having my Neulasta tomorrow and will have someone look at it. I'm just…

Petscan question
What does hotspots mean? I was told I have no hotspots on my petscan and my doctors were amazed, but my ultrasound showed otherwise. I saw my ultrasound films and saw the dark spots. I had the films to take to MRI place. I had an MRI done today, don't know about that one yet. Which test shows the most accurate results? I…
