Kari good to hear from you.
Kari good to hear from you. Happy about your good news and sorry about the nodes. You are one tough cookie girl. As tough as it is, we need take whatever ammuniton is necessary to fight this fight. If you have to do more chemo, you can be sure to count on us ladies for continuous support.
I know what you mean about the eyebrows. The few of mine that have grown are 'white". I may continue to opt for lots of eyebrow pencil and intentionally get rid of the whites.
Keep that upbeat smile of yours and please keep us posted on your progress.0 -
Glad to find you here, Kari...
Though I'm sorry for the unpleasantly surprising post-surgery final pathology results. I think I understand how you feel - things went that way for me, too.
For now, please try to focus on healing up from your surgery - no matter what comes next.
Take good care.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
We are all so different,
We are all so different, aren't we? All I can think is thank goodness for the testing available today. You may need more chemo but I know your goal is to rid your body of the breast, at whatever cost. Keep up your fight and you'll get there soon!! Good luck.0 -
I'm sorry to
hear that,Kari..
Glad that your ovaries were clear.0 -
I'm so sorry to hear about
I'm so sorry to hear about the nodes...but you know that you can do this...for no other reason than you have to. It still stinks though. I was just "talking" on another message thread about how we can all use a little less stress at this point. Please hang in there, vent when you need to, and remember that we are all with you in spirit. Pitt0 -
Good news, bad news
I'm glad to see that.you're feeling up to posting soi soon after you surgery, and the new about your ovaries is awesome! Too bad it couldn't be all good news, but we know you have the strength to go the rest of the way, whatever it takes.
Rest up for now. I know you wonderful daughter is taking good care of you too.
Warm healing (((HUGS)))

Same thing happened to me. I
Same thing happened to me. I had 4 cycles of A/C and then surgery and the A/C didn't get it all so needed 4 more cycles of Taxotere. I was deeply disappointed. I still had 6 weeks of radiation after chemo. It's a bummer sometimes but hang in there. I know how you feel.0 -

I am sorry for the nodes, but glad that you are back to the board. The most important event that positive nodes have been taken out and removed from your body. Your cancer is gone!!! Yes, unfortunately you need more Chemo. Please try to focus on recovery and healing.
Hugs,

KARI...........
Glad to hear from you, wish you had received better news.....but clean ovaries is a "good thing." Hang in there, all this sucks but we do what we have to do! When ever I look at your picture, I always wonder, which one is the mother? You both look so young and beautiful!
Take good care of yourself.......your body has been through so much.........
Peace be with you

Hang in there, Kari
I know it's not the news you were hoping for, but let that extra chemo zap the rest of those cancer cells away. Are you being seen by someone who specializes in triple negative bc in young women? If not, you might want to seek out such an oncologist at a major cancer center just for a second opinion on where to go from here. Since we don't have Tamoxifen, we must be even more vigilent about our chemo and other therapies. Are you going to take Zometa afterwards? Take a deep breath. I know it's a lot to process. Hugs.

Oh Kari I wish you had better news. As I told my sister, cancer is not for sissies. Take it one step at a time and vent when you have to, we'll be here to hold you up.

I always think that too, Nancy... It's such a great pic!
Kari, none of this is easy and yes, it's gotta suck big time that you need more chemo, but in thinking positive, it's better to focus on the fact that your ovaries were clear! Just imagine what would be next if that were not the case. Onward & upward soldier... the fight continues until victory is had!
Get lots of rest, take care of yourself and don't ever lose that great zest for life!

So Sorry
So sorry to hear about your nodes. That is a blow to hear that you may have to do more chemo after already completing 16 rounds. But, like someone said, you got to do whatever it takes to beat this thing. You know you can survive the chemo effects. We will prey that this 2nd session of chemo will work for you.
Take care,

Dang Eyebrows
Kari, I am sorry for the disappointing path report. But, as New Flower and some others wrote, great news is in there, too. That huge tumor shrunken to 1 cm, ovaries clear, and you're cancer-free--those nodes are gone. Plus, you've had the strong chemo combo already. Whatever comes next, the worst is over. Truly. (Been there, done that myself, so you can believe me.) And there's no shortage of eyebrow pencils or shadow until your own grow back again.

So sorry Kari. I know that is depressing news. But there are a lot of ladies on here going strong who had a lot of positive nodes. The chemo will zap those cells and the eyebrows grow back quickly. And you know the chemo is working after the way the tumor shrunk!

I love you ladies/guys
I love you ladies/guys The comment on the photo of me and my beautiful daughter makes me smile BIG SMILES She has been so wonderful!! To answer some of your questions, I had the four rounds of A/C, 12 rounds of taxol, my BIG surgery on 2-11 (I'm recovering nicely at home), then I'll have 30 rounds of radiation (not sure when they start), soooo maybe they will not need to do more chemo (prayers, and fingers crossed). My sweet KarLee says "Mom, if you need more chemo and your eyebrows/eyelashes/hair falls out again, it'll grow back even thicker and more beautiful". Gotta love her. Anyhow, I will know more when I see doc on the 24th. Will keep all of you updated.
Much Love,
