36 with breast cancer - new to the family here

I am in my thirties and honored to be the first to welcome you.
So I will set the tone. This site has been of immense value to me.
I got great advice,support and laughs here.
Sorry you had to join us but since that's not in your control,
just know that you are in the best of company.
I too had lumpectomy, acted fast, felt rushed. Then chemo, still
have to do herceptin till the end of the year but am done with
Carbo and Taxotere. I am Her2 positive.
I have now decided to do the mastectomy,since that would
out rule radiation. YEAY me!!

We have several people under 40 among us I am sure they will get in touch with you. Do not be scared just stay in touch and connected. We can help you to go through your treatment. I was 46 when I got the news. Soon i will be celebrating 2 years free of cancer.

I was in my 30's when diagnosed. Prior to my diagnosis, the youngest woman I knew who had BC was 42. Since joining here, I've read about women in their 20's who have fought the beast.
You are by no means alone. Although very sorry for the reason why you joined this board. There is young survivor's coalition that you can google and find many other young survivors.
I've found a lot of advice and support from this board. And you will too.
If you search 'triple negative' on this board, you'll find some really good discussion and other women who are young like you and had the same type of cancer you had.
I'll try to find it and bump it up for you.

hello this is my second primary, I was 34 when diagnosed the first time in 1994. You will find lots of support here, no question is stupid, nobody is judgemental, all ages, diagnosis, backgrounds, we are all sisters or supporters of sisters and sometimes we get men too, although not lately. there are other triple negative women out there, who will respond.0 -

I was 33 at diagnosis and
I was 33 at diagnosis and had a large tumor and 4 + nodes and wasn't at all sure that I would see 43. I just turned 57 in March! Sorry that you had to join this club, but please know that there is hope.0 -

Well, I am not thirtysomething anymore, but I thought you might like to know about youngsurvivors.org. Several of the regular posters had a TN diagnosis, and issues unique to younger woman are discusssed regularly. Also, if you want to research here, Mimivac is another young TN survivor who has posted quite a bit, and very informatively, too.
As for this board, like my friend Lili always says, welcome, I am glad you found us, though I am sorry for the reason. You will find invaluable support, information, and understanding here.0 -

I've been telling everyone that I am 39 years old and holding for a few years .. Yes, I am aware that I can't stay at this age forever .. Oh well!

I'm 35, diagnosed at 34 and also triple negative. You are right to put down the ipad (I'm jealous, btw -- do you love it?) as there is some alarmist, outdated, and crappy information out there. There are also several of us here in our 30's. As Moopy said www.youngsurvival.org is a great site for younger women to discuss age-specific issues. If you search on "mimivac" or "triple negative" you will find an article I posted here about triple negative. If you'd like, I will PM it to you. For now, focus on your next steps and building an environment of support and low stress (as much as you can!). Take care and keep coming back.

I remember reading the statistics and chances and percentages, etc. Then I came across this site and haven't gone back to that kind of information again. I guess I'm considered a stage 4 since I have bone mets. I'll be starting Zometa for that, then I'll be done with treatment. I feel great today. You'll be fine.0 -
Chemo Advise
I started a thread early this week asking for pre-chemo advice for my wife, and got some real helpful suggestions.
