My hubby has had 1 FOLFOX4 treatment and has severe Jaw pain, like really bad TMJ. Has anyone experienced this?

I don't remember much, but you will soon hear from others that have had this...."First bite syndrome".

    Also a sensitivity to cold...

    Hugs to you both....

Yep - I had it. Really ached in my jaw. It seemed to be worse for the first four days or so and then decreased...but of course it repeats with each cycle. It is a common side effect. My hope is that someone will chime in with somethng that helped...
All the best to you and I hope your husband is feeling better...?
    Take care,

Very common although I think it didn't bother me as much in later treatments as the first few. I found that clenching my jaw just prior to starting eating seemed to help. The cold sensitivity, especially to cold food or liquids is also very common.

Does he just have jaw pain when eating? The "first bite syndrome" is pretty common for those of us undergoing FOLFOX. It's like a painful spasm. For me, it just lasts a second or two, during the first bite or two of a meal. For me, just lasted a couple of days after each treatment. If he is experiencing more general, long-lasting pain, that sounds like something different.

I'm with the rest of the board only the first bite did I feel something. I'm still only on Avastin and it seems to be happening more frequently again.

    Hi,

My father had a strange pain in his jaw when he took his first bite of food, but it then went away after the first bite. His onc recommended a calcium supplement. My father complained of it in the beginning of his chemo treatments, but it seemed to go away after awhile.
