Take your wife to ER/UC and get fired.
When one door closes 2 others open so ----
(No my medical care has nothing to do with having health care insurance through this company - they don't offer any - I'm a veteran so my care is through VA.

Susan I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry you have to add this to the stack of cr*p you're both dealing with. It seems like this should be some sort of law suit in the making for you but then it might not be worth it. Perhaps he should talk with an attorney specializing in this kind of thing. To say he's way better than his employer is an understatement.
Hope it all works out in a positive way real soon.

So sorry..
Susan, I honestly don't know what to say...just that I hate that you are having more heaped upon you and your husband...I'm with you...when one door closes...thankfully your health insurance wasn't tied into his job...
Wishing better days ahead for you..

Susan.... I am soooo very
Susan.... I am soooo very sorry that this happend...unbelievable!! I am very glad however, that it has no bearing on your medical insurance coverage... Did your husband ever file for FMLA??? If he has, you have some recourse in this... just as an FYI... I too believe when one door closes others open... keep your chin up... I'll be thinking of you!!
Hugs,

No No No
They can't do that. He has the right to the family leave act. He can take (I think) up to 6 or 12 weeks unpaid (or use vacation or sick) for that purpose. They don't have to be all in a row either. I think he should talk to HR and expain this to them. I'm not one for lawsuits but he has a good one there........0 -

I'm so sorry, this is completely unfair! And just an additional stress for you both.
Yes, another door will open and I will pray that it will happen very soon.
Hugs,

So sorry, Susan. This just seems wrong, especially since they gave the reason of him not being reliable and his absences have been minimal and related to your health care. I hope you and your hubby will check out your rights. I also hope he'll find another job soon.
Best wishes,

FMLA
Check into FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) I think his boss is wrong, but check into it. My Sister's husband had a hard time for the 6 years she was a survivor because of monthly trips from Corpus Cristi, TX to Houston for her treatments. It was usually a 3 day trip because they had to get there the day before, do treatments all day, then home the next. He had to leave one job because the boss was not supportive of him refusing the advances of a female customer, then he had trouble finding someone who would hire him as soon as he said he would be taking off once a month for his wife's treatments. Employers are not as supportive as they should be...until it happens to them????
Sorry you have to go through this on top of everything else. seof0 -
Yikes Susan, sorry to hear
Yikes Susan, sorry to hear this. One thing to remember, there's a reason for everything, so hopefully what's behind door number two will be a better job or a more flexible one so he can be there for you without consequences.

That is awful! Well, when this happens to one of them, maybe they will realize how bad they acted. Sorry, your hubby lost his job.0 -
That seem so uncalled for
Susan,
that is unbelievable, have those people never heard of an emergency?
Good thing your husband found out now, rather than putting years and
years of work and effort into this company and have them turn their back
on him. It is just as you said, another door will open..
Please try no to stress yourself out over this, you have enough to cope,
I know easier said than done. But I can't help it, I care about you.
Hugs,

I must be very naive because
I must be very naive because this world continues to stun me. I hope you are able to pursue this wrongful dismissal and your husband finds something much, much better. What an ignorant thing to do!

I think this sucks so
Susan,
I think this sucks so much. And I agree, it is worth looking into wrongful termination. I am not a "Go Sue Em" kind of a perosn but in this case I think you and he should persue this. Three days and all for your healthcare, it's just wrong.

wow is all i can say
Does he get a certain amt to use annually? so sorry going through this..I assume a small company?
Even with all my sick time saved over 10 yrs I was written up for abusing my sick time when I took 2 wks post BC surgery and some dr appt..(did my radiation on my lunch hour)
IT"S very sad things must be this way-esp. when in dire need-not like calling in for a cold!
I am so sorry-wish you the best...

This is ridiculous!! I'm
This is ridiculous!! I'm not sure if this is legal or not but I do know that it is heartless and in very poor taste. I wonder how many employees called in sick in this past year and are still actively employed. Something just doesn't smell right to me. But, as you said, when one door closes others open. I also believe what goes around comes around. I hope your hubby locates gainful employment with a firm that is a little more humane. So glad that your insurance is not affected and therefore not more stress on your plate. Take care Susan, you are one tough kindred spirit.0 -
So sorry to hear this Susan
Does your husband's company have over 50 employees? If they do, then he should be eligible for FMLA for these absences, even if he didn't specifically request them as such.
He might want to pursue that in the meantime, but long term it's probably better for him to find somewhere else to work. This company doesn't deserve him.
