MD Anderson Tomorrow

Hi Everyone

Appointment at MD Anderson tomorrow to see another new ENT about this Mastoid Infection I have been fighting for the passed 7 months, just hope I can finally get some help with it this time.

I have been having a lot of side affects and not sure if it is from the Radiation treatment or from the infection. Most of the problems just started a few months ago so I can only think it is because of the Mastoid infection.

Another side affect just started two weeks ago, extreme Hi Blood Pressure, some times 224 over 124, at night while trying to sleep I feel my heart beating so hard it wakes me up. My heart doctor put me or two type of meds but the problem is the blood pressure goes from hi to extreme Low 81 over 42 and I start to feel faint.

It is terrible to be 90% deaf, going blind, can’t speak, can’t swallow, hi and low BP, and having a lot of pain in the head all at the same time.

like everyone I have my good and bad days, Other then that I am doing very Well and yes I enjoy life.

I will let you all know how the MD Anderson visit goes

    I hope that the Doctor is able to pin point what is causing you all this pain and discomfort.

    About the blood pressure issue. Have you changed the medicines at all in the recent past? I only ask because for years, my pressure had been under control with what I was taking. In the last 6 months, I started having headaches again and I checked my pressure several times a day to get my reading and they were all over the place. Talked with my family Doctor and she had me try different doses of different blood pressure medicines. We finally have the right ones and I am now back on track with my pressure under control once again.

    This is my first time on BP meds in about 10 years. When I was overweight I had a little problems with PB but not bad. I think this is all part of the infection I have in my head, just hope to get some help tomorrow.

    Hi Hondo,

    Yes, the blood pressure thingy can be tricky at times. My one sister is lean and mean, but recently her blood pressure has been taking of to some pretty high numbers. I personally think that her job has created extreme stress on her. There is no fat on her and she exercises daily. She never had this problem before.

    I hope that your new Doctor can figure this out for you.

    I visit MDA every 6 months. I am amazed at that place everytime I go. How is your doc Hondo?

    Hi, Hondo. All my best wishes and prayers headed your way. I sure hope you can get some relief from the new ENT. It sounds really tough, but it also sounds like you are one tough guy and you are obviously fighting your way through this. I can only hope that I will have this kind of tenacity and courage as I continue my struggle.
