Jim's surgery in morning-Please Pray
Jim is in the hospital and they have sped up his pacemaker to help during the surgery. They are also having a cardiology anesthesiologist! This is wonderful news. Jim has gained FIFTEEN lbs since the chemo, that is only five lbs shy of what he lost. The doctors are ecstatic.
I really would appreciate it if you would keep Jim and I both in prayer tomorrow. The surgery is first thing in the morning and it is going to be a long day. We are so grateful that at this point he is able to have surgery. I know that God is in control and will take care of Jim and myself and give us both the comfort we need during this time.
Thank you William and Loretta for pushing me to get that second opinion!!!!! I believe it has really made a difference. Jim is feeling very optimistic.
God Bless all of you,
Linda

Prayers Being Sent
Will be thinking of and praying for you both! It's so GREAT that Jim has gained weight and is able to go forward with the surgery! Will be praying for the doctor's to be on their "A-game" and that all goes smoothly:) I'm sure it will be a stressful day for you as you "sit and wait"...will be praying for peace and that time goes by quickly for you:)
Blessings,

Linda, you and Jim are in out thoughts. Be strong, do not panic and exhaust yourself with worries, you would need the strength later on while helping Jim to recover. All the best!

After NINE hours in surgery the doctor came out with a smile and the news is extremely encouraging! God is Good! The cancer was encapsulated in the esophagus and the tumor had shrunk to nothing, as well as the lymph nodes were cancer free! The surgeons said they checked the organs and they all looked wonderful. They did biopsies while Jim was on the table and they did not find cancer. They will have to wait for pathology to come back to check all of the body tissue removed. The surgeons had a cardio-anesthesiologist and his resident working on Jim keeping his heart safe. Jim had a team of four surgeons working on him. The team approach was great. After twelve hours I was able to see him and considering everything he looked good. His color was good and I was able to see all of the incisions and tubes. He was still out, but I told him the good news, kissed him and told him how much I love him! I am exhausted and need to go to sleep. I will keep you updated. We will have more mountains and valleys in the recovery, but the biggest hurdle is over.
Thank you all for your prayers, I know God had his hand on Jim.

For you and for William
Hi,
Your email is full of wonderful good news. Gaining weight is extraordinary. I stuggle with this myself. You are blessed, and of course I just said a special prayer for you both.
Thank you for you caring support of William. He must have a rich and giving heart that he spends so much time each day helping others. You were wise to take William's advice about a second opinion and the more knowledge we have from any source the strong we are for these battles. I think William adds great value to all of us. God bless you and God bless william's kind and wise heart!
