My body doesnt like me
Three or four days ago my foot just starts hurting with this dull ache, just out of the blues, didnt do anything to it. At the time i didnt think much of it...just a weird little cork as my body often has them...and you learn to just brush them off after awhile.
Well over the past few days it went from a little ache to all swelled up and feeling like its spranged...what the heck is going on? Did someone sneak into my house while i was sleeping just to beat the heck out of my foot...or did i think i was in a kung fu movie and try kicking everything in my sleep cuz it couldnt of happened while i was awake...you'd think id remember something like that.
Well actually i was wondering if having osteoporosis can do something like that or if theres another explaination for it...any ideas?

Hi JoJo.
I'm going to PT for my fractured shoulder and asked my therapist about your situation. I told him about your frozen shoulder and that because you lost your insurance you couldn't continue with treatment. He said what we all know and that's the fact that you are not alone in your lack of insurance. He also said that very often when there is a problem in one area of our bodies (for example, your shoulder), we use our bodies differently and put more weight and/or strain on one leg. It can result in knee or ankle issues. Just something to look into. Please find a local clinic that treats people without insurance. Most areas have them. You are very special and deserve good medical care. Please PM me if you need more help in finding medical care. I am a licensed insurance agent and know agents all over the country. I may be able to help you find care without insurance.

Arimidex, femara and
Arimidex, femara and aromasin can cause lots of aches and pains. I had a big toe that was killing me a while ago and even got tested for gout. No gout. Probably just osteoarthritis. The weather around here has kicked up everyone's arthritis. We were very cold (for us)--down to 24 degrees. Today it is humid and in the 70's. Those weather extremes bother me a lot.
I am like you. I don't think my body always likes me, but I look healthy, so I pretend that I am (as much as possible). I also have been known to wrap almost every aching body part in a thermacare. I LOVE those things!0 -

when the body you thought you knew, just turns on you! Last night I slept with a hot pack on my lower back all night--my back just decided to go out after I lifted my 30 pound Kitchen Aid mixer. That's what I get for making chocolate chip cookies for loved ones. Not fair!
Hope you feel better, JoJo--you're not alone with these crazy things. However, I do know why my back went out--just me bein' stupid!

Hey JoJo Just wondering about that foot...Are you on tamoxifen? No signs of blood clot?
Will be saying a prayer for you......I blame most of my aches and pains on chemo after effects... I tripped after my 3rd chemo treatment in June and sprained my ankle. It is still not right....But if I am looking for the bright side the pain took my mind off some of the crappy nausea...lol0 -

don't give it a massage! I did that, and it was huge mistake and could'nt walk on it for a week.
Next thing you know I had to make an appt...another one different type of Doc, Foot and ankle.
I'm 51, the next thing you know they fitted me with orthodoticts...LOL I tried to use them...For Get About It,
I could'nt get comfortable and now my foot is'nt bothering me at all.
In order for us to get rid of the BEAST we might have taken on a few ghost.
Hope you feel better soon.

How the
Roseann your great!
How the heck did you fracture your shoulder...thats gotta hurt!
You brought up a very good point that i never thought about...like my body compensating for my shoulder...never would of guessed it could affect a body part so far away but your right. I will look into that.
Hopefully (keeping my fingers crossed) i will have my health insurance by Jan 1st, im still waiting for the approval letter in the mail...should be any day now...just more waiting and stressing. Im just tryin to hold out till then, if i can.
I wish there were more caring people like you cuz if there were then nobody would have to worry about health insurance...your awesome! Thank you! and if for some reason i get denied i will be sending you a PM cuz i wouldnt know where to start!0 -

Im not on arimidex or femara, im on tamoxifen. so would that fit into the same catagory? I never had the weather bother me before but it does now. Here we been having blizzards and ice rain (sleet) whatever you call it and cold as heck and its our second blizzard this week. I dont like the cold...im a tropical girl living in the midwest...hehe!0 -

Hey Waffle
Yes im on tamoxifen and i dont know what the signs of blood clots are so i cant answer that! I think i could still say its a chemo side effect...but does it ever end?
Is your foot back to normal now or do you still have problems with it? Id ask about the nausea but your foot pain took care of that...lol!0 -

Being that you're on Tamoxifen, I wouldn't massage anything especially if you have swelling! Is your foot Hot,or red? If you have any doubts, please get it checked out! I know you don't have insurance but 1 side effect of Tamoxifen is deep Vein Thrombosis. You don't want to massage it if there might be a clot. I don't want to scare you and I could be totally wrong but I wouldn't want anything to hurt you . Take care. Keep us updated! HUGS!!! Cathy0 -

You crack me up jojo, with the reply about someone breaking in to your house. You made me lol! This arimidex is driving me crazy with leg cramps and muscle pain, so I'm taking a break... It's so hard to get used to our new "normal" and not want the old normal back. It was such a short time ago, why can't we have a "rewind" in life?!0 -

Here are the symptoms of blood clots (in legs):
"Symptoms occur in the affected leg when a clot obstructs blood flow and causes inflammation. Symptoms may include the following:
•Swelling
•Gradual onset of pain
•Redness
•Warmth to the touch
•Worsening leg pain when bending the foot
•Leg cramps, especially at night
•Bluish or whitish discoloration of skin
However, almost 30%-50% of individuals with deep vein thrombosis do not experience symptoms from the condition."

Cynthia wow your a wealth of information! Thank you!

So its really not red and i dont think its warm to the touch.
I do want to thank you ladies that told me not to rub it cuz i had no idea thats a big no, no!
Cynthia i had no idea that tamoxifen had so many of these side effects!

JoJo, I started Tamoxifen about the same time you did! The first part of the list, I don't know what half the terms mean. But, i do have bone aches, and am experiencing mild flashes. Not sure if the Ovarian cysts I have are related, but the one that I didn't know, I have been dizzy since October, and I was taking allergy pills thinking that my allergies were making me dizzy. Now I am wondering if it is the Tamoxifen. I also understand the cramping. I try to drink lots and lots of water, but that doesn't always help. Weird what medicine can do!0 -

So sorry that your having this pain JoJo. These side effects are a pain in the arss! LOL Seriously, some of them are other cancers and that makes me crazy.
Supposed to start Tamox after the 1st. Scaring the heck out of me.
Please check with your doctor though just to make sure it's not a clot.
My body hates me too. Sometimes if I MOVE the wrong way I pull something in my back or shoulder etc..........Maybe we need to call the Tin Man with his oil can!
Hugs,

I'm glad Cynthia listed all the possible side effects. Your foot could be something serious. I watch the Doctors in the afternoon and just the other day the gyn was talking about foot massages being dangerous during certain times of pregnancy. Your body may be reacting to something, so please don't massage your foot. I hope you take Roseann up on her offer to find a clinic where you can go for therapy and maybe someone can look at your foot. It is so true that our bodies betray us and go through wierd feelings....... Hope you find an answer.

Wanda... Lets call the tin man to bring on that oil can!
I feel my body doing all kinds of weird things lately...even though my body has always been weird before but now...wow!
On the serious note Wanda, sorry if i scared you about the tamoxifen thats not our intentions and just know that everybody reacts differently, so please take that into consideration. Unlike me i had no idea of the side effects and if i did i would of probably reacted the same way.0
