Lymphedema Pump news

My pump came yesterday! What a nice early Christmas present. It is such a relief and help for my condition. I don't want any of you who are concerned about getting lymphedema or might have a mild case which is controlled by massage, wraps, or sleeves to get concerned. Not everyone needs a pump...but if you do, it is a wonderful device. Now I am getting hopeful that finally the swelling will be able to get managed. I have one more week of physical therapy. So this has been a banner week for me, from the PETscan results and Dance with NED to receiving the Pump. I will still need to wear a sleeve and glove every day, but I am okay with that and have the patterned sleeves from LympheDIVA.

    DIVA sleeves are fantastic
The Lymphediva sleeves come in Class I and Class II and are so much nicer and less bulky to wear than my Jobst or other sleeves. They work just as well....do not have seams that leave marks, and just easier to slide on and more comfortable to wear. I absolutely love mine and would recommend them to anyone that does not need a custom size. They do not have gloves....just gauntlets......but not everyone needs a glove.

    Great week for you, Cavediver!
I have some lymphedema in my trunk/breast areas. I received a Flexi-Touch at my home for this--is this the same as your pump? Mine has a vest-like garment and garment that goes around my trunk/upper left thigh. It's attached to hoses that are attached to a unit which pumps air through the chambers on the garment giving me a massage that moves the lymphatic fluid to where it's supposed to be. It works well and should eliminate visits to the lymph. therapist. What is your pump like?

Good luck and hoping this is the relief you will need.

    Hugs, Renee

our units sound similar in action....sequential pumping. Mine has the arm and then a half vest type thing....so the pumping starts at hand and works the fluid up toward the torso and to healthy lymph nodes. It has 12 chambers in this one I am told. I love it....it actually feels good and also helps reduce the swelling. Happy Holidays to you and Happy Pumping!

    LympheDiva sleeves
I do not believe that LumpheDiva makes custom sleeves. I had small, but they are too tight now......so I have one Medium I got a week ago in the tatoo pattern which fits perfectly.
    Do you have LympheDiva sleeves?

No i dont have the LympheDiva sleeve, the one i have is from my therapist. I dont know how the sizes run but my PT gave me a size O and she said id have to have one custom fit for me since that one is too big. Besides i like some of the designs of the LympheDivas.

    Glad to hear you
got your pump and your arm is doing much better. I only have a mild case of lymphedema so I just use the sleeve occasionally if I am going to do something a little more strenuous. I am going to look at the LympheDIVA ones though. The one I have looks like an ace bandage - not very attractive.

    JoJo, check out the sizing
JoJo, check out the sizing chart on the LympheDIVA website. I paid high dollars for a custom sleeve (Jobst) and I hate it ... the DIVA sleeve fits much better and feels so much more comfortable. My lymphedema therapist were very impressed with the DIVA product. Good luck! Somehow, I just see you in a fashion sleeve

If we have to wear a sleeve,
If we have to wear a sleeve, I think we should be able to have it attractive and comfortable...in addition to doing its job! Good luck with the DIVA look!

    I have a Flexi-Touch on
I have a Flexi-Touch on order - was hoping to have it before the New Year but kind of don't think that'll happen. Being out in the boonie's like we are there is no company representative (at least according to my 'guy') in the area so a company rep. has to fly in. My 'Guy' is going to be trained to be their Rep in the area.

While I do fight lymphdema in my hand and arm, it's somewhat controled with day and night sleeves and gloves but the swelling in/around shoulder, body and across chest are the reason for MLD machine for me.

I will loo up Diva too.
I think if your machine starts from hand you probably should do your trunk first manually.
    Wishing you luck with pump
