Today marks my 5th year!
It is has been a very long time since I have chatted with you...I just wanted to share my good news:
Today, marks my 5th year of being cancer-free! At times, when I look back to all that has happened, it seems like it was a very long road that I have traveled-and traveld unwillingly. Yet, at other times, it seems like it passed by so very quickly, as I remember that day in the doctor's office when my journey began as if it was yesterday.
Much has happened over these five years: I have had so many tests, many unanswered questions about why this or that was happening and this led to more tests and unanswerd questions, I have had relationships fall apart and others that (almost magically) came back together, I have lost much, but I also found faith. And, now, I am in this new place called,"remission" and I don't know if should laugh hysterically or cry tears of joy.
I know, from my chats with so many of you during the past five years, that you have experienced much as I did and have felt the same way I do now. I now know how it feels have rightous victory.
With that said, I want to give a word of encouragement to those who are still in the midst of fighting this relentless and unforgiving battle...peace does come and it is one that cannot be expressed in words alone.
I just wanted to share this with all of you!

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations are in order. You must be so happy to see this day come. I am happy just to see a day come and whether the sun is shining or not .... it is a good day. This whole nightmare has been going on for me since Aug. 2nd and it seems like forever. So thank you for your good news and I know I will be there some day also.
Hugs and Prayers,

Thanks
Just wanted to say how happy I am for you and also how much this posting meant to me. I went onto this board after a really bad weekend. Just went through the 4th of 4 rounds of AC and have 4 more rounds of Taxol-neo adjuvant, then surgery, then radiation and, of course, not sure what after that. This 4th round was the pits. I usually bounce back after 4-5 days and this time I was bone tired until today. Was looking on this board for something to help pull me through and your post was the first I read. Thanks! You've given me some hope! Have a great celebration today!0 -
Heartfelt Congratulations, dmc!
There IS "something" about anniversary #5 - isn't there? For me, finally felt like I could consider myself a "long term" survivor. Happy for you!, and sincerely hoping you'll enjoy remission status for many, many more years to come - and beyond.
Good to find you here, old friend. :-)
Wishing you & your loved ones a very Merry Christmas!
Kind regards, Susan0 -

Thank you for sharing this! It gives us all hope. I am about 6 wks. away from 1 yr. since dx. Like you said a lot has happened just in 1 yr. for me. Somedays it does seem like it has passed so quickly, other days not so much.I am doing good though so that is what is important God Bless

I don't the last time I made an angel in the snow...today seemed as good a day as any---Consider it in honor of all of us.
The sun is shining and my pup Emmy wants to go out and frolic in the snow...maybe I'll make some more snow angels in gratitude for another day...another year...
Bless all of you and thank you for your kind words of congratulations...it meant so much to me. I'm glad I could give others hope--everyone needs a little bit of hope. :-)
