    Actually this Fall has been a bit warmer overall than a lot of years. However we have been into the minus F several times - one day stayed below 0F and several have stayed below 10F. wind chills have already been in the -20's several days.

    Hubby has to go pick up 3 big round bales tomorrow so had to take the car trailer to get them. He got off early today so decided to check on it today. Well - to get it hooked up he had to dig the tongue out of the drift just to hook up and go in sideways to get to it. Then had to drag it out of the drift - good to have 4 wheel drive and a 3/4t truck LOL.

    where do you live? we have cows and we do the hay and hooking up trailers again i live in S.C.

    In '55 or '56, we had enough
    In '55 or '56, we had enough snow in Tampa to be let out of school at noon and to scrape up on cars/metal and make small snowmen.

    I don't remember it as I was a year old but in '46 or '47 Daddy and NanDad (g-father) lost several head of cattle to the freezing rain we had in Charlotte County. G-Aunt told me of loosing 1/2 her herd and quite a few acres of orange trees to the cold (Polk County). It happens.

    Though I grew up a lot farther south than you in SW FL, I'm a lot farther north now than you are though the state does have South in it's name - South Dakota. WE don't have any cattle now - just horses.

    Honestly, as a SoCal girl born and raised, I would curl up and die if I lived where some of you do -- 3 degrees? 8 degrees? Excuse me, where is the other digit, please?

    I'll be outside with Victoria, gratefully soaking up the Vitamin D.

    I'm just north of Clearwater FL,
    and we've already had a couple nites where it hit below freezing, and days where it didn't get above low to mid '50's. And this isn't really when we're "supposed" to have our ostensible "cold spell" yet. If this weather doesn't straighten out, I may be forced to consider moving south! LOL

    Bring on the Christmas music because it's snowing
    I live a northwest suburb of Chicago. It is snowing as I am typing and will snow for many, many hours. I am not leaving the house on Sunday, Staying home. Making spaghetti sauce, meat balls, and decorating the Christmas tree...all to the sound of Christmas music.

    wondered what happened to the Giants game until he turned on the news on the computer and found out the dome had collapsed from so much snow! We are getting a rain storm today. The snow will come soon enough!
