my idea of Halloween costume?

I'm going to a Women's Retreat this weekend and we are to bring a costume. I had decided to be a pink witch so I was at WalMart this afternoon to get the material. A woman asked me what I was doing with the so much of that material for (it was cheap) so I told her that I was making a costume and was going to be a pink witch who fights BC with her wand. She went off on me BIG time - I had no concept of BC or I would never think of doing such a thing. I asked her if she was a survior or knew any survivor - she didn't. Just knew it was wrong. O dod tell her that I'm a BC suvivor but she was on on her own 'line'.

Do you find this costume offensive?

    WHAT an idiot she is!!!!! Has she never heard of Glinda, the good witch of the NORTH????? From The Wizard of Oz???????

    I think your idea is WONDERFUL! How I wish there was a pink witch with a wand to fix us all!!!!!
    All you can do is feel sorry for her - how small her world must be and she must have no concept of what it's like! May she never need a pink witch!
    I love your idea - you should send us a picture of your costume!

    I think it is a great idea!
    For my last chemo the first time around, I dressed up as a movie star with a pink painted barbie doll as my oscar. I was "Cancerena" and had performed in many such movies as "I walk the I.V. line" and "Hair today, gone tomorrow", etc. I had a whole long list of movies that I modified to match the chemo theme. It was rather a bit of fun. I think the pink witch is a blast and am totally not offended. She probably was of the pity party bunch who wants to whisper sympathies to anyone who has cancer. If you have cancer, you can have some fun with it and those in the cancer world know that you are generally doing it in the right spirit.

    The only thing offensive is that woman's attitude. I think your idea is far better than any Halloween Witch I've ever seen. It's a great idea. You go girl! Happy Halloween and enjoy your woman's weekend.

    I don't find your idea offensive, I find HER offensive. What's her deal?

    I say go for it ... you're the one that's been through it, if you don't find it offensive then GO FOR IT! I cannot believe she went off on you. Did you tell her YOUR story?

    You go girl as the pink witch and you wave that wand and make us all healthy, wealthy and prosperous! ;) I love the idea! :)

    Having just spent 8 months of my life on this battlefield, I am offended by the woman's response. Strangers, can't live with them...and who would want to...the kook.

    I'll be wearing pink hospital scrubs myself with a funky green witch's hat...I'm a witch doctor.

    I LOVE your idea! So NO, I don't think your idea is offensive! I think it's very clever and is a great way to bring about BC awareness to those that are clueless!!

    I am impressed with your costume. I think it is extremely clever. Have your photo taken and post. I would love to see it.

    As far as "the woman at WalMart" , how could she be so righteous!!! Consider the source. She is not a survivor nor does she know any survivors. Her opinion has no validity.

    I think your costume will be wonderful! The woman obviously has no idea what a "survivor" has gone through. Her reaction was totally unjustified! I hope you have a wonderful time this weekend and wear your costume proudly :-) I bought a t-shirt from Zazzle that says "ghosts and goblins don't scare me - I survived breast cancer". You go girl!
