Curious about Ileos & Colos

How many have had an ileostomy and how many a colostomy? When I read different boards about takedowns/reversals which I hope to have around April 2011, I mostly read about the ileostomy reversals. I have a end colostomy and was wondering how different are things after reversal for the colostomies vs ileostomies?

Ileos & Colos
Ileostomy for me. Take down about 6 months ago. I had a hard time after my take down and wished I had my bag back. Things seem to be doing better for the most part but it's not the same as before. But just happy to be NED and ALIVE!!

I had a temp colostomy from
I had a temp colostomy from June 08 to Feb 09. My cancer was up far enough where the resection did not involve the rectum. The take down was not a problem, in the hospital a week. Recovery was fine- some urgency issues the first couple of weeks, but overall not bad. Not any problems since.0 -

Did you have a loop or an end colostomy?0 -
Ileostomy
My ileostomy was a loop one. It was strange but I did still expel some fecal matter from the back end while still having the ostomy. My complete rectum was removed and had a j-pouch made from the colon.
