Concern about twins ***UPDATE
This afternoon my son called and he said that my daughter in law went into early labor last night. She is 23 week pregnant with twin boys. We are very concerned. The labor was stopped and she is getting steroids to help the babies lungs develop. The doctors had originally wanted her to go to 34 weeks, but now we are all hopeful for 26 weeks. The babies have a problem with twin to twin transfustion and one of them is small so there are many concerns right now. My daughter in law is on bed rest so I will spend my days off going to help take care of my 11 month old grandson. (A bright spot in all of this).
Cancer is very very hard but watching my kids struggle is so difficult. If you are inclined I would like prayers, good thoughts etc for Matt (my son) Aimee (my daughter in law) and Gavin- the cute little guy in my picture.
Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it.

******Update
Thanks everyone for all your support. My son and daughter in law got back from Houston tonight. They had surgery on Friday morning to shut down the placenta vessels that were causing problems, but there are still many concerns and they are not out of the woods yet, still there is so much good and the babies are doing good. The doctors would like her to carry them until Chirstmas, she is 23 weeks now so we have a ways to go and she will be on bedrest until the babies are delivered.
I appreciate this board so much. You all are an amazing group.
I did get to spend 4 very special days with my grandson, Gavin. He will be 1 next Saturday!!!! (This is a little bit of "specialness" within a very difficult situation)
Thanks all for being there!!
Jan

I am sending you all the best. I am really hopeful that all will end well. It is amazing how much preemies can be helped these days; before + after birth. Gavin is incredibly cute + I hope you enjoy your extra time with him - you are right, that is the one bright spot in all this. It is nice you are able to help your son + daughter-in-law at a time like this.0 -

Prayers for all
Dear Jan,
So sorry to hear of this development. I know how difficult it is, as my daughter was in similar circumstance but just with one baby. They were able to hold off delivery for about a week or 10 days and did the steroids thing. Baby was tiny tiny when she arrived and was months in NICU, but today she is a healthy 5 year old just starting kindergarten.
Prayers for you all as you deal with these difficulties and hope that all turns out well.
Hugs,
Marie who loves kitties0 -
Prayers and thoughts yourmsccolon said:prayers for sure!
Twins are so special, even if I say so myself! I pray God wraps these babies in His arms and strengthens them as he guides the doctors and nurses as they fight for them.

Prayers and thoughts your way. I was pregnant with twins and know how worriesome and difficult it can be.
So, I understand your concern.
Peace and Calm,

Jan:
I'm sorry you are experiencing this. My niece also went through this and it is difficult. The steroids will really help with the lung development and the doctors will monitor her frequently. My niece gained the few extra weeks needed and did come home with monitors attached to her that were transmitted to the hosital somehow before being readmitted with 24 hour monitoring.

Okay!
Jan,
Thanks for sharing and yes, I am praying for all to go well with those twins and your daughter in law- I'll have my youngest add it to her nighttime prayers (she's the only one I still "put to bed" each night).
I know that must be very nervewracking to worry if they're going to be born too soon or not. Your grandson in the picture is definitely a cutie!
Hugs,
Lisa0
