Congrats
Good for you and keep telling yourself just how bad they are for you since it took years to talk ourselves into all sorts of things while we smoked. I quit after surviving chemo something I promised for myself since I knew with every drag what it is doing to me.
I had full acupuncture not just three pokes in the ear and went to a fellow who had actually worked for the space program back in the late 70's. If I do something I want to get it from the guy who has done it the longest and this was a very old asian male but in great shape.
I never looked back and for the first time since smoking never thought about a cig something that isn't easily forgotten. I think the pain I went through doing it is the reason don't touch it now. It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced and most people have this nice warm fuzzy feeling attached to their accupuncture session. Not me torture for sure...

GREAT JOB! I am so happy
GREAT JOB! I am so happy for you and hope you have continued success! I know how hard it must be, my parents quit about 25 years ago and I still remember it!0 -
Pat
I am so proud of you :-0 Today is the first day of the rest of your life. My dr used to say to me the important thing is to stop smoking and the rest we'll deal with later. I started smoking when I was 12 years old and quit at age 50. I tried the gimmicks including hypnotism. Nothing worked. After my sil and bil were dx with cancer I quit cold turkey! I have been smoke free for 11+ years. And just like a bc survivor you don't wanna mess with a woman going into menopause either! lol You go girl!

Good job!
Kicking any kind of habit is tough but quitting smoking can be very difficult for some people. I am very happy that you have decided to make this change in your life and hope that years from now you can be posting that it has been (fill in the blank...5, 7, 15) years since you've smoked.
Take care and please keep us posted on your continued progress.

YAY - YAY - YAY!
WTG, Pat! If anyone understands how difficult it is, it's ME! I quit on May 1st (my beloved mother's birthday) for 3 months. Then I did something stupid. I was craving very badly and I caved in. I had the best quit going ever as it really wasn't that tough. I used the patch for only the first month and I was forgetting to put it on in the mornings, so I decided to go without. UGHHH! I was and am so mad at myself! I'm jumping on board with you, though... I set my next quit date for 10-10-10... I'm strange and always like my quit date to be easy to remember (like it helps any, lol).
Congrats and keep the quit! You're doing fantastic! Mar0 -
