I waited and waited for the cows to come home.....
And we have our Fall birds now...guess that is the end of summer. We also turned the 'verwarming' (house radiator heating) on...it gets cold at night!!!

They are 'IJssel Vee'....pepebcn said:Still 25,degrees here Kathy
And just a sweater by night hope we still have this until the end of September !
Nice Dutch cows by the way !
Always brown and white. Not the only colored cows in The Netherlands, but these are named for the river that runs close by us.
There is another type, named Lakenvelders, that are dark brown or black, with a white stripe around their middles...the name translates loosely to 'Blanket area'. But the name also can apply to goats, mice, even chickens....
These lovely ladies are all pregnant. Guessing mid- to end of October there will be calves. We shall need to wait until we return after Christmas to see them....

A PM arguement? What fun is that? If you do it online I'll volunteer to mediate.
What l would like to discus to John are some alternative options as maintenance , after surgery and also as complementary if possible while on chemo. This would be very long to start a public thread.
l see you very participative , good! That's what we need!.
Get fun Lori!0 -

Pepe the English lanuage is a real pain especially if it's not your first language. I knew what you meant but, thought I'd have some fun with it. Hope you didn't mind.0 -
As a kid.....abrub said:We had Golden Gurnseys when I was young
A small farm, we had 2 cows, also brown and white.
Also 300 chickens, 30 sheep, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, and a goat. Now there are horses and alpacas there.
I had an ant farm, but then the roaches moved in and took the
whole neighborhood down.
Actually, I had three ducks and a dog. As poor as we were, we
didn't eat any of them; they all ran away in the middle of the night.
That's the story of my life.

The dog was a herder, so when he heard 'duck', he drove them away!!!!
I am laughing soooooo hard!!! Thank you, John, for always providing a refreshing look on things!!!

Love those cows!! I'm sure
Love those cows!! I'm sure they're loving their food. When I was little, pa had milking cows and beef cows. Ma used to milk em' and she HATED it. She was always getting kicked. Those ladies didn't like her. They never bothered the rest of us, just her. LOL
Love and Hugs,

My friend's Grandparents.....
My friend's Grandparents.....
They had a farm.... and the wife's job was milking the cows, but
she said she always had trouble getting them to the stalls.
My pal's grandpa whistled a loud, long whistle, and sure enough
within minutes, there he was, milking away.... he said that he never
has a problem getting them in.....
And my friend said: "But that's a bull, grandpa"....
Oh well.... those days are gone...
(just as well, I suppose).
