Irishwhispers
I met Trish here on CSN in the chat room and we quickly became good friends, and sisters. We were diagnosed around the same time and went through treatment together. Then after treatment instead of drifting apart we started making plans to get together. Than shortly after her one year anniversary of completion the beast returned as mets to the liver.
I want to tell you a little about my friend so that you to will know the spirit, the strength the courage, the wisdom of this woman. Trish ended all her chats and her posts with i love you more my luggage, I would respond to that with I love you more then my diet pepsi. Many of us were recipients of her peanut butter hugs and chocolate kisses.
My friend was a woman of JOY, laughter was her key to life. She was always ready listen, discuss, and help you see the true picture. It was Trish that encouraged me to post on the boards instead of just hanging out in the chat here at CSN. She believed I had something to contribute. I spent many hours listening to story's of the the piratical jokes that she had pulled on her children, of the weekends she spent with her grandchildren, and the joy she found in painting. Trish could make you smile no matter how down you were. She truly believed that laughter was the best medicine, and worked at spreading as much as possible. You never ended a conversation with her without having at least smiled once.
The last thing that Trish would want is for us to mourn her passing. She would want us to celebrate her life, her accomplishments. If Trish were to arrange her own funeral she would ban black, she would insist on bright colors, laughter. She would want the memory of saying the final good bye to be a joyful thing.
So my heart is heavy, but today and every day I will celebrate having had the honor and the joy of known this wise, courageous, beautiful spirit. Though I be on the verge of tears, I will think of all the laughter I shared with her.
Tonight and every night for the next week I will light a candle at sunset for her so that she will know that I am remembering her with joy, with laughter, with light. Because she lighted up this board with the brilliance of her spirit. She lighted up my life, by just being her.
Forever more I will hear the echoing in my head and my heart of her sending me peanut butter hugs and chocolate kisses, and her telling me she loved me more then her luggage.
Trish my friend, my sister. I will miss you, your wisdom, your humor, but most of all I will miss always knowing that I could turn to you any time and you would be there. Your still there you will forever live in my heart as so much more then a memory
Love you more then my diet pepsi Trish, rest well.

What to say for such a tremendous loss? Trish's spirit came through in every post. I greatly admired her sense of humor and spunk. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to her friends and family, whom she so loved. Thank you, Tj for letting us know. I have a heavy heart today as well.

I remember reading some of her posts and was fascinated with her closing line of "I love you more than my luggage". I heard someone else say it on TV a few months ago and instantly thought of Trish. I read her bio last nite and she was certainly quite a woman.
She's at peace now and she will never be forgotten.. I too will celebrate her life with you.

Our uniquely special IrishWhispers...
Will be sorely missed, but - never, ever forgotten by so many. Your tribute, dear TJ, is beautiful and appropriate. And quite obviously written from deep within your heart and soul.
Trish titled her "Expressions" page here: I Will Not Be Broken. Those five simple words made an immediate and everlasting impact on me the very first time I read them - seems so long ago now. Ever since, and always will - during my not-so-good days - I've repeated those words to myself, and silently thanked Trish for them. She knew this.
With broken heart, Susan0 -
Thanks TJ for posting what
Thanks TJ for posting what most of us feel for our dear IrishWhispers. She was like no other. Could make a joke out of the most inundane thing. Dan used to call her Trish the Dish, because she truly knew how to dish out as well as take. I met her after I had finished my treatment, and she was just starting hers. The first time she came in the chat room I knew she was a spirit to be reckoned with. So many things happened, yet she didn't let her spirit down. But her witty sense of humor was what most captivated me of her. God needed our angel to watch over us and she will always look down from heaven at us. Good bye dear Trish until we meet again. Watch over us...Sending you peanut butter hugs and chocolate kisses. Love you more than my luggage, Lili0 -

So sad from our view point and we will miss her. She is in no pain now. TJ you said it all. I will light my special candle for her also.
It sounds as if you were BOTH so lucky to know each other. I'm sure everything you got from her, she got from you as well. Those who knew her can only live in courage and strength to honor her memory.
I did not know her, but your story about her inspired me to be strong and positive.

Trish was not here as much when I started either, but even then I heard whispers of her and she was a force for sure. I want to expressmy sympathy to all her friends and family, her love goes on through you. God Bless0 -
HATE
I don't use this word often because it's not a nice word. However, I HATE BREAST CANCER. I HATE the fact that this disease takes our best and brightest. Our wives, mothers, daughters, aunts and yes, some men. I HATE chemotherapy, surgery, feeling tired and losing my hair. I am not satified with 1 in 8 and will not be satified until the words breast cancer are deleted from our vocabulary and we no longer talk in terms of diagnosis, pathology and treatment. I did not know Trish but I feel really bad that such a good friend to so many is no longer with us. My heart goes out to you and her family. My best to all.0 -
TJ,
You summed Trish up
TJ,
You summed Trish up beautifully. I remember reading a book (The Little Prince I think) that all the stars in heaven are those we have lost and that the twinkling we see is their laughter. I am sure that her star will be twinkling the brightest of all. Farewell dear heart, you will be missed.

I never really got the chance to know Trish at all, but now I completely understand what a blessing her life has been, and what a loss her passing is. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us, TJ, to create this beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman.

wow, TJ, I didn't know her either but she has touched me too. It sounds like she was here with open arms to bring joy and laughter to such a serious topic as Breast Cancer. I love that you told her story and shared her with us.
We are all sisters/brothers in this disease and it is a gift to get to know the best of the best here.
Thank you, R0 -
