Just a quick ((((((hug)))))), sweet RE. I love the idea of your video recipes. You did a great job with french toast. xoxoxoxoxo Lynn
My dear RE. I know this is a sad day for you, especially since you have basically had your 3 grandchidren with you basically all of their lives. It definitely will be different, but you just need to look at this as an adventure. When you get a "hankering" to see the kids, just pack up your bags and make it a vacation. You may even have to take your own pallet to sleep on, but who cares. Also, there is nothing like having the little ones come and visit you for sleepovers. I know it won't be the same, and we have all been through the separation that happens when our kids decide to become adults. However, we can then become the kid, and throw temper tantrums, and insist that you need a visit with them NOW! Won't that be fun. Your leisure time can be well spent scheeming up what kind of mischief you all can get into when they next visit. I think I am the queen of mischief, so if you need any ideas, let me know. I will be thinking of you as you adjust to your new daily routine, but just know that there are some "kids" here on the board who are always available to play. Hugs, Judy0 -

Yes, it means you can have chocolate cake for breakfast if you want...with ice cream. :>D
I love to play...I made a napkin holder out of Legos that looks like the stomper on Tron.
The kids grew up and I get their toys-no grandkids. I finally gave my dollhouse I made to my niece. I didn't have girls and decided I could build it for me (when the kids were young). Unfortunately the youngest was into teenage ninja turtles and he turned it into a hideout for the play figures.0 -

I am sure you will remain close with your kids and grandchildren. You are indelibly in their lives. and such a great grandmother. All these life transitions are hard no matter how long we have been alive. its always something. my daughter went to college last year when I got diagnosed again. She just left again, and I still wonder what our relationship will be as she gets older. The not knowing is hard, but knowing you RE your family will always want to be in your life.0 -
My daughter and first grandson lived with me for 5 years also. The day she got her own apartment tore at my heart. My grandson and I were so close ( still are) and the first night in their new place, I had to go over, he was crying for me. I watched a movie with him and stayed with him till he fell asleep.carkris said:I am sure you will remain

He is 14 now and we are all doing well, but I know exactly how you feel. He can still tug at my heart even though I have 3 other grandchildren. I think we will always be close because of those first 5 years.
Hugs and more hugs from someone who knows.

YOU ARE ALL THE BEST!
I cannot say that enough, I knew you would all get it and understand thank you so much. They are all on vacation in Disneyland right now so I went over to their new digs to pick up the dog (dog sitting) and checked out their rooms, it warmed my heart! This is the house I raised my kids in for the first 12 years of my daughters life and the first 9 of my son's. My son lived in it as an adult for 4 years, he just bought his first home. Anyway, to see the rooms my kids lived in decorated for my grand kids just filled me with a sense of joy. It is time and it is good for them, God has a way of working it all out...things have again come full circle. Thank you all again for helping me through a tough patch.
Love ya!
