Dancing with NED tonight!

My three-month PET-CT was this morning at Stanford. My doctor was able to review the results and discuss them with me late this afternoon. NO UPTAKE! NO AVIDITY! NO EVIDENCE OF DISEASE! The scoping and all the palpations were normal. Got a finger jammed down my throat again today and it seems to be getting easier. I snapped at him, but he jumped clear.

I got a good look at the medical records I was hand-carrying down to Stanford from my local treatment center. They threw everything at me that they had, treatment-wise for T1N2cM0 Stage 4 HPV-16+ base of tongue SCC. High dose Cisplatin at 100 mg/m2 (and I'm only 120 pounds). A total of 38 radiation treatments, 6900 Guys to the base of tongue and the same to both sides of the neck. Doc says I do have quite a bit of lymphedema going on. Duh, I'll bet I do! No saliva yet, and could be problematic, given the bilateral rads. Nothing else of note, occasional tingling of feet, rare tintinitis, no hearing loss, and the odd attack now and again of L'hermitte's Sign. Just enough to keep me entertained and on my toes.

Stanford didn't give me the 100% all clear that Micktissue got, but they did say that, for someone in my shoes, the 5-year survival rate was in excess of 95%. That is good enough for me.
