outdoors .. late August - hot and humid makes me cranky and sweaty. I am all for someone else waiting on me, as I have been house bound since April 18th ish. My only adventures outside my home for a very long time has been pre-op visits, apptmt's with Onc or PS and chemo treatments. Yes, I vote indoors - just me.
Cindy - I would like to give you a 'BIG' shout out and say THANK YOU for organizating this wonderful -- Union for us!
Vicki Sam
I was telling my girlfriend about the voting, and mentioned your comment, VickiSam, that you want someone to wait on you. She has volunteered -- if for some reason everyone wants a picnic -- SHE will wait on you! "Will there be anything else, ma'am"?
She just wanted me to make it clear that she's NOT willing to wear a little uniform, and she expects a nice tip.

So, for the record, the golf course at El Dorado Park has a restaurant, thus food AND indoor plumbing~ and we will still have the park and ducks and laughter and outdoors and each other! They even have paddle boats there...we could have races! Or not! Ok, it was just an idea, ok??
If your sweet g/f wants to eat outdoors...I say someone should bring a cake to celebrate the occasion of our meeting! She need not wear a uniform of any kind, and yet, she will have her desire to serve and eat outside fullfilled and we will still have indoor plumbing!
I will bring the plates, napkins, utensils, etc...
Saturday the 28th??? Siobhan will bring me down!!!
Oh...that's my vote! LOL

We sound like such a happening group. It will be fun to meet.
Cindy, Chen and VickiSam
I love to find out that we have other things in common (besides...)
Wrigley and the park....
I am open to do either... picnic or restaurant. ** The ducks would be nice.

I went for my post-op appointment late yesterday, and my husband, daughter and I had dinner at the Olive Garden in Orange .. it was lovely .. more so when I was told that each restaurant has a semi-private room that accompanies 8 to 16 people, and we could pre-book this area for our get together on August 28th ... OR
Claim Jumper .. 1/2 sandwich and soup under $10.00, a very large salad bar, chicken or beef depending on your food .. preference. Claim Jumper also has designated table areas for larger parties.
What do you all think? Cindy ?

There is indeed a Claim Jumper in LB~ on the PCH, so that would work for me!~0 -
I'll check it out!
Sorry I haven't responded lately, but my job has been very challenging this week (had to do more layoffs) - that's the bad news, plus we've been getting ready for a fishing trip with some friends on hubby's boat (it's usually a guy thing, but this time ladies are invited) tomorrow - that's the good news, so I haven't had much time to get online.
My plan is to scout some places out on Sunday and will report back to everyone then. I'll definitely check out the Olive Garden and Claim Jumper, and I was also thinking about the Yardhouse that I know is by Rainbow Harbor. Hubby and I had our rehearsal dinner there, and I know there's a separate area we might be able to use. They have a great variety on their menu.
Talk to you ladies soon!0 -

You've already put so much work into planning, and there's no need to work out the details right now now now -- we have a month to do that....don't apologize for having a LIFE, girl!
And I'm sorry you've had to do more layoffs -- I know where you're coming from on that.
Enjoy your trip tomorrow -- relax and destress, and check back in when you can.

Cindy... a Huge Thank You
Cindy... a Huge Thank You for doing all the leg work on this one! You have a busy schedule between family, work, vacation plans, and getting this First Ever Sisters in Pink Shindig up and running.
All those restaurants mentioned sound great! If I had to choose... I'd go with the Yard House or The Olive Garden. But... I will go with whatever the majority decide on.
Until then, take care all!

and Mom... Our Mom was the person who introduced us girls to Mother's Beach .. What a coinky - dinky. I thought I was the only non-Beach resident that knew about Mother's beach.
Mom and I had a good laugh .. as she would never all us girls out in the water (BAY water) until 1 hour after our Tuna (and sand) sandwiches - yes, mom made them right then and there on our beach blanket - as I slathered melted coco butter on her back. Good times!!

body will get stronger in time. It is most difficult to return to any job full time, after an absence .. let alone fighting a wicked beast -- Breast Cancer. Rest in the evenings - and be kind to yourself.
Strength and Courage, I pray for you.
