    My daughter is 13 and plays
    My daughter is 13 and plays on a traveling softball team. She loves it and I enjoy watching her play. Missed alot of her games last year but so far I have been to all of them this year.

    There is still LOTS of happiness
    You hang in there Girl,
    Life isn't fair and that is all this is. Some of us have to go through more than others but I can find happiness in the simplest of things. You need to get out that Verse of What Cancer Cannot Do and keep reading it till you believe it, I still need to read it myself and be reminded of all that has been good from this SURVIVAL.
    I am sorry that you have to face some more of this and I can only hope that it goes better for you. Cancer can be the gift given to make us truly realize what we were doing wasn't helping, hence cancer. We truly have to want and you too deserve the health and quality to your own life.

    I originally had a unilateral mastectomy. My mammograms were always a time of great anxiety as the radiologists (rightfully so) didn't want to miss anything soooo they seemed to always be double checking with ultrasounds, etc. The good news is that they never found anything!

    Because 2 of my sisters also then were diagnosed, I had the 2nd breast removed many years after the first mastectomy (preventively--I never did have cancer in the 2nd).

    I didn't have this happen to me, but, I would be scared too. But, I am praying that they will find nothing and that your lump will be benign.

    Today we both have appointments. I wish you well as you find out exactly what you're facing. For me it will be my 23rd consecutive week of treatment for Stage IV breast cancer. I live every day with HOPE and want you to feel that too. I keep thoughts of all the good things in life, including family, friends, pets, and SOFTBALL.

    My daughter was also on a travel team, beginning at age 10. It took us to many places over the years and it's been wonderful. We went to tournaments in IN, KY, IL, and TN (we live in IN). The team had great success. We decided to try a big "World Series" when they were 14 and under. So...we went all the way to Garland, TX, they finished 3rd and Rachel was chosen as one of nine for the All-World team. When she was in 16 and under we went to our second "World Series" with a different team. They won, the last one standing out of 79 teams! Rachel was again chosen as one of nine for the All-World team and also named Best Offensive Player. For 2 years she has played at the college level. I've been to as many games as possible, but this spring I only got to go watch 4 times (that's 8 games). It really does hurt when you can't do something you love.

    What's your daughters name? What position does she play? I'd be interested in anything you want to tell about her! Where do you live and go for tournaments?

    I don't mind talking about my cancer, the treatments, etc. But, it's nice to talk about those good things too. Again, best wishes today and always. MM

    I will be thinking of you today. Are you having a chemo treatment? My daughter's name is Marissa. She usually plays 2nd base, sometimes third or outfield. She kinda got screwed this year. The team she has played with since she was 8 split up. Her coach took all the players that will be going to catholic high schools in a year and left the ones that will be going to our high school out here. So, the team she is on now has alot of younger players and they have really struggled. She will be trying out for the high school this spring. She will be in eighth grade this year.
    We live in Kentucky. Close to Louisville. Where in Indiana do you live?
