On A/C I only lost about 1/3 - 1/2 od brows and lashes - on Taxol they all left. They were the first hair to come back and were decent by the end of Rads though there was NO other hair back til at least a month after Rads.
mine fell out during taxol, came back rather quickly, darker than normal only fell out once.0 -

total lost either. However, both have not returned to their prior thickness or length. I am hopeful - waiting.
I did lose both 'big' toe nails due to taxol treatments. It's taken months for the regrowth .. not there yet .. maybe by mid July I will be sporting .. my street walker red -and white polka dots pedicured toe nails.
Don't worry hair grows back .. this is a difficult concept to swallow while on chemo, but I am here to tell you .. your hair (legs included) will come back.

Hi, Janice
I did the same cocktail as you (4 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan), and my eyebrows stopped growing during chemo, and then suddenly thinned a lot briefly right at the end, but never entirely fell out. I never noticed any difference at all in my eyelashes.
And every little hair in every little place on my body has come back exactly as before (even the ones I wish had stayed gone!)

My brows and lashes just thinned some
but never left completely. I had the same cocktail and number of cycles as you, finishing up a month ago. Only my underarm hair and chin whiskers (!!) left completely and haven't yet returned. All the rest of my body hair just thinned. My head stubble didn't all fall out either. Another one of those "it's different for each person" things, eh?0 -

Thank you all for your responses. I was kinda thiking it was at the end for some but could not remember for sure. I still have stubble on my head too Christine Louise. My underarm is the only place the hair has left completely. Very little growth on my legs. Do not mind the shaving legs very seldom at all!! Thanks again for all of you for your kindness God Bless

Hi Boppy
I was also on Cytoxin and Taxotere. I have been done with chemo for 2 months, i first lost my eyebrows about the time i was done with chemo and my eyelashes well they are a different story.
About a month after chemo my eyelashes first thinned out, then i lost all my eyelashes on my left eye and my right eye i still had about 10 long ones left, so it looked pretty funny until last week when the last of them fell out...now my face is naked other than the peach fuzz growing everywhere. When are they going to grow back in...I wish I knew!
By the way i had 6 treatments.0 -
Eye brows and Eye lashes
Hello everyone, Im new here. I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer in September 2009. I was on Taxotere, carboplatin and Herceptin. During chemo my eyelashes stayed, my eyebrows thined out, which I liked, I have thick eyebrows & had to pluck every 2wks. A couple of weeks after I finished with Taxatere and carbo back in April 2010(still on Herceptin)My eyelashes started to fall out, thankfully not all of them & eyebrows also started to have a few bald spots. Last week I notice my eyebrows are filling in again and my lashes are taking a little longer to come back.0 -

My eyes watered and itched a lot during chemo ... but it never dawned on my that it was my eyelashes coming out. Most of it started AFTER chemo ... but I never did lose all of my lashes or brows at once. I always had a little something ... but it seems to be taking forever for my lashes to grow out. Everytime I put mascara on ... I end up with blobs on my eyelids because there's not enough lashes. It's really lovely.
hugs.

I guess I will just wait and see what happens. I knew it would come eventually. I will just enjoy having them while I still do! Thanks again to all of you. I am wishing you all the best God Bless

I know about the blobbing of mascara on the lids! Thats really all I can do at this point. It gives a beautiful definition doesn't it? I've never used false eyelashes but I'm considering it. And drawing eyebrows takes alot of practice too. They don't erase very easy. What I'd give for Brooke Sheilds brows and lashes right now!0 -

I pretty new here myself and diagnosed with the same as you and on the same cocktail as you. I just had my first treatment last Friday. I will do treatments every 3 weeks, 6 times and then continue with Herceptin to complete a year. How did you handle the Chemo? Did you take Emend? Where you fatigue for several days after chemo? Since I am on the same as you just wondering how you did.
Thanks for your advise.

Hello New I am on the same mix as you and pink. My 5th treatment is tomorrow and my last is July 15th. I am taking emend because I was sick after my first chemo. It is expensive but helps. I also started taking my anti-nausea meds for a couple of days longer than the prescription said and took it not "just as needed", but preventatively. I have not been sick since. I still have brows and lashes, although my lashes have thinned. What a bear this chemo is!!!!! We are all in the same boat and I just think it is important to keep positive and do what you want to do as you feel like it. Big hugs to you and everyone. We can beat this!!!
