Left coast
I'm 40 miles north of San Francisco in Petaluma (Sonoma County), gateway to wine country (Napa is 15 miles east of me). Gorgeous country, mostly agriculture (was once the chicken capital of the USA - http://www.petaluma.com/history.html) but it is the home of Telecom Valley (AFC, Calix, Cisco, etc.). Every April they put on the 'Butter and Egg Days' parade and festivities, which makes the American Heart Association cringe. Home to Wynona Ryder (I know her mom) and Tom Waites (he's up in Occidental and you might see him sipping a cup of coffee if you breakfast at Howard's).
Best,

Just over the wire from Hong Kong. Bit far to go for lunch but one never knows.
The area is well know for being the fastest growing city on Earth and more recently the sad events at the Foxconn Factories.
Over 12,000,000 people live here give or take a million (or two). When I arrived in 1994 there were less than a million. I live in a quieter peninsular.

I am in leafy Surrey, a suburb of London UK. I used to come on site loads when first dx in Aug 2005, mostly the chat room. These days I rarely get on here as I am so busy living. I am coming up to 5 years clear of nasal septum carcinoma and luving life here in London. We plan to now spend the winters in Andalucia in Spain, from November thru to April, I soooooo hate winter in London, nasty. I once lived in Newport Beach, California and La La Land for a spell, but that was a long time ago, but I really luved living in the USA. I come on here from time to time to just read some of your stories and to witness the strength of human beings when faced with this horrid disease. I wish you all well and life can go on after cancer. I never ever thought I would be the same, I wanted the "old" me back for ages but I now have a "new" me and I have to say I like her very much, and my life has been enriched by my experience. Good luck to you all. Luv Txxx0 -

Me again, sorry I forgot to say, all your descriptions sound fab but the one I am really taken with is "Columbia, California, in the Sierra foothills roughly east of Modesto" would love to come back to Calif for a visit again one day and see the Sierra foothills. I will dream for today lol.0 -

Its been home for 20 years now
I live in a small town, Newbury, (I don't think it's even on the map - LOL) in west central New Hampshire. I live at the base of a mountain and am within walking distance of a beautiful lake. Further up the mountain is Lake Solitude which feeds a brook that runs directly in front of my house, it then crosses under a small bridge and has a beautiful waterfall (about a 30 foot drop) The waterfall is about 25 yards from my house and in the warm weather when we leave our windows open you hear the waterfall. The house is small and very, very old but the location was like a slice of heaven which is why my husband and I bought it.
All I have to do is walk out my door to see some of God's greatest work.0 -
