That's quite a story, Jen:)
You've been down a road I have not traveled...from your description, it sounds like a very bad dream. Glad you were able to walk away from this, I know it could not have been easy.
The road to recovery looks clear for you now - please continue to walk down this road and am so glad you are continuing to improve each day.

Way to go Jennie
in praise for your wisdom knowing something was way wrong, and what to try and then do, your strength, tenacity, and your humor too. Thank you so much for sharing your story, and being an inspiration and letting us all know we are all capable of more than we could ever imagine.

Good for you. I have heard
Good for you. I have heard all the stories about how hard they are to get off of. But, thak goodness for the people that need them as it sounded like you did. they gave them to John when he was having back pain. He took two I think and some muscle relaxers and rested and then it felt better.
I guess you can see how people get so hooked they rob the drug stores just to get them.
Glad you are doing better and back on the board!!!! Love Paula0 -
Wow Jennie!! You rock. This
Wow Jennie!! You rock. This sounds like a rough ordeal. You're really smart and brave, and tough as nails. I've been thinking about you.
I'm really glad that your back is better.
I love your humor. I'm still having a hard time getting my possitive feelings back, and your humor really picked me up this afternoon. Thanks.

Ok, so I was lurking today after mowing and brush hogging. Got my head back on straight again.
NOW - what is this happy bullcrap that you are having a hard time getting your positive attitude back? Just because you have been sliced, diced and bathed in chemo is no damned excuse to slack off on the attitude bit. We both know you are made tougher then that. So get your **** moving and get your brain thinking positive thoughts. Your body’s warriors need some damn leadership and direction.
Jennie darlin, I am pleased to see you cleared this hurtle in your life. Knew you could do it. You have a strong will little buddy.

Glad you made it! Acupuncture?
Jennie,
You poor thing- you have been to hell and back, it sounds. I'm so glad that you've gotten through it and feel that you have beaten it!
Definitely makes me leary of ever taking pain meds. So far, I've just stuck w/ ibuprofen, naproxen, or tylenol. Pain was really bad in my joints and all over last week & the meds I just mentioned didn't help at all. I was able to get in that day for an acupuncture session & it really did help- really. You should consider acupuncture. My cancer center actually offers it for free for patients. People in the community who have their own businesses offer their services for free a couple of times a month at the cancer center- really, really nice. I probably wouldn't have tried it if I had to pay but, now knowing how great it is, I am recommending it to people & will pay for it in the future if I need to.
You take care of yourself now & I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Now you've got to come up with a plan to control any pain you may still deal with- consider the acupuncture & I'm sure you're talking to your onc about other pain meds that might not be so addicting. The PA at my onc office mentioned one that is a combo of ibuporofen and vicodin, called ibucodin or something like that. I think the key is all in how much and how often you take it, as you well know now. Massage, in addition to acupuncture, would also be something to try on a fairly regular basis, like at least weekly or more.
Take care & a big hug to you!

..I just cracked up at the AA's comment, that just made me almost piss myself with the searching part, thanks for that, LOL...
But still wanted to say you did an awesome job and you're a strong woman for kicking it. Sounds like me when I quit smoking 7 years ago, cold turkey, the cravings were horrible, but they did pass. I'm glad for you. I think I'll be on oxy's for life, since I doubt I will ever be Ned which is ok, but they do give me quite a boost of energy as well.
Hope you stick to it! Good luck! you will feel better soon!
Hugsss!
