Congrats Pitt on doing the Relay! I don't know if I could do it or not. And, you won free dance lessons! Glad you had a great day!
Hugs, Megan
Good for you! I'm glad you were able to go. I love your new picture. What a cute couple you are!0 -
There is such a sense of closeness....
I LOVE relay...I've probably attended more than 20 in the past years...
It's the spirit of commonality...everyone there has experienced cancer in some way...whether themselves, a loved one, or a friend...
I'm glad you made it! So WHAT if it's emotional???? We earned the right!!!!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
Congrats Pitt
I am supposed to walk in our Relay for Life on the 15th of May. Since this will be my first, I had no idea what to expect. Thanks for sharing.
I know you must have been really proud of your daughter.
Sending hugs
Donna.
PS: I might try the basball cap you suggested in my post.
Thanks again0 -

I would like to attend one. I did wonder about the emotional part and if I could deal with that. I think it's something I really want to do with my friends and family who would be willing to join me.
Yeh Pitt! Congratulations to you and your daughter!0 -

Congrats, Pitt. I agree it is emotional but I found it to be a good thing, too. I did a walk last year while I was also just about 4 weeks post-treatment. Very emotional but something I will do every year going forward.
Congrats Pitt! I know these are very emotional and even hard for survivors to do. But, you did it! WTG!

WAY TO GO!
I think that is awsome. It takes on a entirely new meaning and to see all of those people walking to support us, is just amazing. The last walk I particapted in was in honor of my Mother. I wont be able to walk this year as I have my second surgery the day before. But next year I hope to be able to "run". YOUR A WINNER!
God Bless0 -

Hi Pitt, I did ours on Saturday and I agree it was quite rewarding. I can only imagine how nice it was to have you daughter up there reciting her poem, what a treasured moment. Glad you had a good time, I was thinking of you.
Hugs,

How awesome Pitt! I haven't been to one, not sure I want to. It is great though to hear about the wonderful time that others have by going.0 -
'Relaying in June
Pitt,
I'm registered for the relay in June - 18-19. Thanks for your encouragement! I'm really looking forward to it. The people from my church have a team put together in honor of me and another BC survivor who walked the same path and I these past 7 months. One of our men is going to park his motorhome on site for those of us who need to rest - and he's going to bring his grill and cook us all ribs! I'm going to do luminaria in memory of my parents who both were taken by cancer - and maybe a couple more in honor of surviving friends. I know it will be a highly emotional event - but I'm all about letting the tears flow.
By the way, you look lovely.

Beth, I'm so glad that you are doing this and have a wonderful group to "hold your hand." Let the tears flow, but also celebrate the moment. It truly is a wonderful experience. My husband is still talking about how emotional he became. My children on the other hand, only saw it as a moment of rejoicing. It was good for all of us! Good luck, Pitt0 -

How wonderful that your husband is so tied in emotionally to your journey. My husband has been there right with me throughout as well. He just had some basal cell cancer removed from his arm and we've jokingly said that he can now walk the cancer survivor's lap with me cause he's a survivor, too!
I continue to be amazed at the spirit of courage that emanates from women going through this journey. And, Pitt, you're just one more amazing example of beauty and courage.
