Thats wrong
Hospice came 3 days a week to give angel fluids . I would call and speak to a superviser or the dr.The only thing i know is that they could not give him any pain meds he had to be in thier hospital for that, but angel had that pain pump inserted into the stomach cavity so that was not a problem for us I hope they can get fluids to him.Maybe it is different in each state .

Pat has sure been through the wringer the past couple of months - wish he could get a break so he could enjoy some of his time.
I've kept up with his progress through the CB site. I don't want to lose Pat but I can only imagine how tired he's been from reading - he says he's had enough - and I can hear it through Carrie's posts.
I hope this is worked out quickly - don't understand it, thought hospice was there to provide quality end of life issues - and they are denying him liquids?

Pat Kapper
I have been following his caring bridge site and get updates. Pat really does not want any more hospital. Carrie called hospice in the evening and "did not get the most informative person". She is waiting until morning to talk to his hospice nurse directly. From what I read it sounds like Pat was in the hospital with a bad blockage and there was nothing for them to do for him, they tried. He can't eat or drink without it coming right back up thus the reason Carrie thinks he is dehydrated and wanted the fluids. Hopefully, he can get these fluids at home. She said she will let everyone know after talking to the nurse. If Pat has to go to the hospital for fluids he will but he refuses to stay, he wants to be home.
The last hospital stay a few days ago they wanted Pat to stay and he said no, if they can't help with the blockage he wanted to go home and spend his time with his family so they released him.
Please keep Pat, Carrier and their 5 girls in your thoughts today.

I hope this can get resolved
I hope this can get resolved quickly for Pat so he can enjoy being home. It seems hard to imagine that hospice can't provide IV fluids. When I was dehyrated after Christmas, home care (the same organization that comes to disconnect me from chemo) came + gave me IV fliuids for a week. They came 2X?day; to hookup + disconnect. I am in Canada, so it is probably different.0 -
