Enjoy life, give up the wig. Take a chance give your new hair a bright color. I wake up every day with the Rod Stewart look, regardless the length of my hair so I just keep it short and let it stand up. Keeps my husband laughing every morning when he looks at me. We laugh at just about everything anyway keeps us young.0 -

so great when the hair starts growing back isn't it? I was called Ziggy Stardust for awhile there, and now that my has has grown out, I keep getting people telling me I should cut it short again. Short & spiky, who knew?
Everyone here looks beautiful, hair or no hair because your courage and strength shine through.

Go for it!
I don't have nearly that much hair yet (you can see my recent pic on my Expressions page) and I've already been going out without any covering. Nobody has even looked twice at me, and I've gotten compliments from those that know me that I have a "cute head".
Just try it on a short trip the first time. My first venture was to pick up 1 item at the drug store, so I didn't have to be "exposed" for long. That gave me the confidence to keep doing it.
Either way, your wig days will soon be over once and for all - enjoy!!

I just wear baseball caps and only out in public. hair inch and a half on sides, shorter and thinner on top. No more coverings around friends and neighbors, this is what we've all been waiting for...all I do is look at people's hair styles....no more curling irons for me, I'm staying pretty short and going to do a spikey thing. I love getting out of the shower and not having to do my hair.
No one stars, if they do I don't notice and don't care either.

As soon as I have enought to cover my scalp I'm ditching the wig. After buzzing my hair short before shaving it all off I plan to stay short also. That is so funny! I still haven't gone in public without my scarf yet. Mama G urged me to do it a week or so ago and I am just too nervous. I need more hair and more time. I posted a pic of me in my expressions with the growth I have so far. You all will have to take a look. It is just still so thin in a couple of spots...well...a lot of spots. This is more nerve racking than going out for the first time with a wig or scarf!0 -

I saw your picture and as soon as my hair gets that long, I'm ditching the wig. You can go onto my expressions page and see how I had my own hair cut two days before starting chemo. My hair was down past my shoulders. I think you look great!0 -

It is so Funny going to the restroom in the morning and seeing what your hair looks like, my husband and I always get a Good Laugh.
I never could wear a wig to uncomfortable and it would seem to bring Hot Flashes on.
I always wore a scarf.
