    I too have uterine cancer
    Dear April,
So sorry to hear about your cancer. I had a hysterectomy Feb 17th. The doctors didn't know I had cancer. Have the doctors test your pelvic lymph nodes. Usually stage 1 doesn't require any further treatment. I too was never able to have children. I have been a foster parent before. And alot of these babies become available for adopition. You are young. The surgery will be painful for about the first two weeks. They'll give you pain meds. I was scared too. I did alot of research on line plus I ordered books from Amazon.com on Uterine cancer. I am here for you April. I will be there in spirt . You are not alone. My email is patriciacordle@yahoo.com. Prays & hugs Patti

    Upcoming surgery
I haven't been on this site for awhile but wanted to wish you fast healing from your surgery. My surgery was in August and I was fortunate to have the robotic surgery and was home after 2 days. My diagnosis was Stage 1C, Grade 2 which basically means intermediate endometrial cancer. The gyn/onc did not want to do any further treatment but I did get a second opinion at Moffitt. Moffitt did recommend brachy treatment (radiation) in hopes of preventing re-occurrence.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you,
    Susie

Hi Aprillorey. By now Im sure u have had ur surgery. I wish you a speedy and safe recovery, I will pray for you and your family. I wish we couldve found eachother sooner. I also have the same as u. All my life I dealt with the heavy bleeding and clots. Clots got bigger and bigger throughout the years. Doctors wouldnt do a thing. I believe it was because of my race and uninsured. In 2004 I was told I had 6 months to live if I didnt get a hesterectomy. In 2005 I got a second opion and was told I didnt have anything and was taken off my meds (MEGACE 40mg). June 2009 Went for a check up and found out I have uterine cancer, stage 2. Now my oncologist wants me to get the hesterectomy within this month cuz cancer has spread. I keep asking myself "WHY ME?" Its very scary, your confused, depressed, stressed out and all of the above. My aunt said it best, "cancer doesnt kill you, its knowing that you have it that does."

I am 28 and just had an abdominal hysterectomy 6 weeks ago. I found all the reading made more worried then I needed to be. It's no fun of course, but not as bad as you will read about online. Everyone is different and you are young and will most likely recover better then most women going through one (as the average age is obviously much older). I have been lucky enough to have 1 child, but I did want more so I have been trying to deal with the emotional side of not being able to have more children. I feel this has been harder then any of the physical recovery. Will they be able to save your ovaries? They were able to save 1 of mine, so in theory I could have another child via surogate. Although this is not an option financial for me maybe it could be for you.

    I totally understand.

    Hello April,

I am new on here, and I was reading about you having your Hysterectomy, I just had mine done 2 months ago. There were years of my husband and I trying, and finally after transfusions and my hemogloben dropping so low. I had to make a life and death choice, mine was to be alive to help my husband and go down this road together. I suffer alot right now, always wanted a child especially one who looks like Mikey and I. I know I go thru mood swings I am depressed and break out into tears, and then I am mad at another moment and then I feel joy here or there. Mostly I feel numb.

I had fibroid tumors for 5 years, and my husband and I had been trying for a baby, my doctor never said I had cancer just recently, which the fibroids had no cancer. It was hiding in the lining of my uterus. It was not till this last friday I found out that I had cancer in the lining of my uterus. It's called Endometrial Cancer. I read up alot over the internet. I know sweetie how hard this must be for you..

I am in a wheelchair and I was so indpendant and would cook clean grocery shop and could walk all day and now I have no energy. It's a long recovery process....

I have no advice ask lots of questions don't let all of this overwelm you.. Enjoy those moments with your husband and laugh. Let him hold you ask for lots of help sweetie.. I use to not, and now I do. Remember your body will tell you when you can't do something and when you can. I undersand about the test, I asked my doctor if I was totally cancer free and he said well let me talk to the other doctors and make sure and maybe their might need to be more test. I think it was his way of saying Hey Mona take one step at a time breath, your going thru alot..

I hope all is well.. You might of had all this done already I wish you good luck.
