It wouldn't suprise me if it did,I also have barettes esophagus[spell]and I have to take prilosec 2 times daily,or the doctor told me I will get throat cancer.I know of 1 person who didn't,and died of throat cancer. And since I've gotten this disiese I've also gotten diebetes. If it weren't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all.But I'm happy to have any kind of luck.

I think anything is possible? but usually hear of the spread to liver and lungs. Is Chris having issues that make you think esophagus is involved?

Melanie, since Chris has the huge blood clot in his stomach, maybe there's a bulge or hernia in his upper tummy (look up hiatal hernia). I certainly wouldn't think cc would skip the liver, etc. and go THERE.

    Chris on chemo
Maybe the chemo is doing it, just a thought. George was constantly clearing his throat while on Oxi. I doubt it could move to the esophagus but remember Brant, I think his rectal went to the bone (rib) before the liver and then peritoneum, and not lungs. Now stop worrying until there is something to worry about. Tina

Mine has spread to the lymph
Mine has spread to the lymph nodes in my neck around the esophogus. I have been having a hard time swallowing water lately and I have a hoarse voice. The Dr. think it is because I have a lymph node probably lower in my chest pressing against the esophogus. Just so much fun!

    Dysphagia
Dysphagia( difficulty in swallowing or eating) can be a side effect of chemo. I was on Folfox and Avastin and had issues with swallowing in early treatment. My doctor prescribed a slurry for me to drink and it seemed to help. Mine was so bad at first that I didn't even want to eat anything and was losing weight. Just something to ask about.

Hoping all turns out well and his difficulty eases up.

    Smiles,
    Dawn

    Couldn't swallow vitamins
I had to break my vitamins during chemo because they wouldn't go down. Agree with Dawn!
